Quote from: "cls"on broken wings - liked it, would like to get into more of their songs
from autumn to ashes - kind of... boring and emo...
norma jean - never really got into them, good sound, but a bit lenghty
eighteen visions - sometimes nice and catchy, never got into their older stuff
zao - good, but not outstanding
as i lay dying - (definitely not hardcore IMO, but I still want to get into them) besides '94 hours', their other songs seem to suck
coalesce - were compared to converge, but seem really boring
the hostage heart - liked 'destroy rebuild destroy', reminds me of old converge

On Broken Wings is amazing. You should get "Some Of Us May Never See The World". FATA sucks, so does Zao's new album. It really let me down.
The Hostage Heart is pretty good, same with Norma Jean.

For the Solid State lovers: Get the new He Is Legend. You won't be disappointed.

Quote from: "caLa"Yeah, me too. I loved Helium Queen. Not that the album is bad, it's just not as brilliant as I expected. There's no bad song, but besides Helium Queen there's no standout track.

I agree, outside of Helium Queen there's no really good track.

I'll go get The Chariot now. :D

Who told you that Coalesce were compared to Converge?, they are nothing at all alike.

True that, it's funny that the Coalesce guys went on to make the poppy but good Reggie and the Full Effect after their breakup.  Haha it may be too pop-punkish or emo for some of you guys, but i like it, its relaxing and haha nice, a lot of cool keyboarding and techno/piano, with some screaming in a few songs the whole way through.

Haha but i was on allmusic.com and i was just looking at the reviews they gave Jane Doe and You Fail Me (both 4.5 stars, like it should be), and under bands that sound like Converge: Poison the Well, Candiria, etc.  than COALESCE haha wtf.

BigDave

word.  I recently bought the jealousy issue EP, very nice.  I also bought the new FATA album, which was a bit poo.  I'll be buying Jazhymens Lullabye tomorrow by 7angels7plagues tomorrow.

Whats with the hate for the new Zao album?

ben

I checked out Nevea Tears.  a lot more singing than i expected, but the screams are very converge-like and the music is really good. I have only listend to the first 3 songs, but helium stands out.  Really atmospheric with the added keyboard/synth thing.

i just came across a band that probaby isn't hardcore, but might be interesting for all the fans of the certain mathcore guitar style that bands like Converge and Botch have:

they have recently released all their work as mp3:

Well ... The album from The Chariot is really ... Boring. Short and repetive. I am not impressed.

It's good. But that's as far as i will go.

BigDave

i bought calico system and eden maine instead, but i intend on getting it one day

caLa

Calico System is pretty good.

I only heard the first track from The Chariot's new album yet and it sounded good, I'm too busy to hear it in its entirety for now.
Same with He Is Legend.
