Got Fall Of Troy's album. It's pretty good.

Though, Nevea Tears was a letdown to me, had two of their songs before i could get their album. What a huge letdown that was. Maybe i expected too much in advance.

caLa

Yeah, me too. I loved Helium Queen. Not that the album is bad, it's just not as brilliant as I expected. There's no bad song, but besides Helium Queen there's no standout track.

Don't think so, mate.

This is the folder i got:
The_Fall_of_Troy-The_Fall_of_Troy-(Retail)-2003-KzT

Anyways, i'm downloading the Circle Takes The Square album, sounds pretty damn good so far, only need two more songs. I really really love their 7 song EP, the song: "In The Nervous Light Of Sunday" is one of the best songs i have ever heard. Amazing.

And the dvd: Fall 2003 Promo. (Thanks to the lovely, Died20Times)

The Fall of Troy:

The Fall of Troy says their influences are mainly Norma Jean, Converge, The Mars Volta, Poison The Well, Death Cab For Cutie, At the Drive-in, Hopesfall, Dillenger Escape PLan, Thursday...

They have their own kinda sound in my opinion, the singing is really emo and high but the screaming is just terrific.

Virgins Fail Me - wookubus
(1:42 PM PST 10/18/2004)
Converge's Jacob Bannon recently discussed the upcoming Converge/Cave In collaborative project, Virgin, you can read what he had to say about it, the forthcoming Converge re-releases and more here.

Cave-In is pretty good, their softer stuff is better. This should be really interesting.

JapaneseAnime

I read about that last night,it was an interview with Jacob - it sounds as if they'll actually do this and get it released which I'd like to hear,'cause they are two of my favourite bands.
EDIT: http://www.creative-eclipse.com/file/interviews23.htm
^ that's the interview with Jacob if anyone fancies a light reading moment.

Yay, today is awesome. Full Blown Chaos, He Is Legend and The Chariot leaked.

Getting all of them now. :D

cls

stupid question: how do you manage to get into so many of these new hardcore bands... I mean, I am trying to check them out, but they're mostly just plain and disappointing, nothing that stands out or makes them special in any way -
at the moment, Converge is enough to satisfy all my hardcore needs, flavoured with some Dillinger Escape Plan. ;)

caLa

Well, name some of the bands you checked out. :?

cls

Good Idea, I always wanted to start something like that: Recommend the "single best song" for every band named here, so people are sure to experience the band at its best when they check it out

hardcore bands that I admire:
will haven, converge, the dillinger escape plan, botch, the tony danza tapdance extravaganza,
(some may argue that it's rather (math)metal, but whatever)

a few newer hardcore bands I tried to check out, and my 'prejudice' ;) :

on broken wings - liked it, would like to get into more of their songs
from autumn to ashes - kind of... boring and emo...
norma jean - never really got into them, good sound, but a bit lenghty
eighteen visions - sometimes nice and catchy, never got into their older stuff
zao - good, but not outstanding
as i lay dying - (definitely not hardcore IMO, but I still want to get into them) besides '94 hours', their other songs seem to suck
coalesce - were compared to converge, but seem really boring
the hostage heart - liked 'destroy rebuild destroy', reminds me of old converge

ben

The Chariot leaked? hot damn.

i like them. i always thought they sounded a lot like norma jean. check out from a second story window. i think you might like them. chaotic and they carry a little bit more originality then most bands. challenge of caring and i tried voodoo once are my fav songs.
