considering the fact that they are made up of ex-norma jean members, yes, they do sound a lot like norma jean but they fucking shred. i really like what i've heard so far.

i knew they were ex-norma jean people, someone told me they sounded totally different than Norma Jean though, which is dumb. but i like that song.

Hey, guys.

Glad to see this thread coming to live again.

I really like The Chariot, sounds really damn good so far.

As for the new .Hopesfall. album. I heard two songs (don't know the names), and it was terrible. Boring as hell, and way more simple and predictable.

Listening to: Converge - You Fail Me (amazing cd)

yea at the hopesfall thing, though i dont dislike the songs.  Its just not impressing me so far....i thought it would be atleast more ambient like the cool instrumentals on Sattelite Years.

and btw Tribal, have you heard Alexisonfire's first album which is s/t?

no name cola

is Circle Takes The Square considered "Hardcore."?

i wouldnt know since i dont usually listen to this kind of music, but As The Roots Undo is a great cd.

fucking love that cd. they aren't really hardcore, actually they aren't really anything but they have, unfortunately, been labeled as a screamo band. the double vocals are just perfect for the type of music they play.

alexisonfire's s/t album owns that new piece of shit they just released. that shit was disgusting.

@ White Trash
- No, man. But i will download it right now. I'll get back to you when i have heard some of their stuff.

Okay, i just downloaded what i guess is a 7 track EP, selftitled: "Circle Takes The Square".

And it's brilliant. Great vocals, awesome melodic parts, great feel all in all. Really nice.

get their album, as the roots undo, its fucking great, i heard the EP first, too, and thought it was alright, but As The Roots Undo blew me away.

Nice one! I got mine for 7 pounds here in England......which for anyone who's been wallet-raped by HMV in the past will agree is good going.
Yell if I give you enough rope

I actually like the new .hopesfall single now, it grew on me.  The other song is just ok.

Do most of you people even know what hardcore is?

Black Flag
Minor Threat
Bad Brains
Inside Out
The Germs
D.O.A.
S.O.A.

Hardcore is dead, anyway.

Oldnewtype

since when is Black Flag and Bad Brains hardcore?

Since the early '80s. Bad Brains and Black Flag are some of the first hardcore bands (along with Minor Threat).

Just search for articles about DC Hardcore and you'll Bad Brains listed as one of the most important hardcore bands.

Black Flag are the definitive LA hardcore band. They're just more experimental than most other hardcore bands are. They started the whole LA hardcore/trashvore scene.

I see people mentioning Hatebreed and Alexisonfire and I wonder what the fuck they're on. That's post-hardcore influenced metal. Something Ian Mackay started with Fugazi. It's just that Fugazi are the only ones good at it.

Oldnewtype

....none of what you said matters anyway, genres are as outdated as the electoral college
