Someone should start a "Not Hardcore" thread and move half the bands in this thread into it.

Most specifically the Trustkill bands that aren't Terror or Most Precious Blood.

Funny that someone calls AN "traditional or straightup hardcore," because they've got too much metal to be that.  They were closer to The Hope Conspiracy than traditional harcore.  Traditional hardcore has made a huge revival, though, especially in NJ and Boston, where 17cm Records, Don Giovanni Records and Lockin Out Records have begun to dominate the scene and the more metal based hardcore is dying out.

All people care about these days are crappy Trustkill stuff or the old school stuff as a reaction against fashioncore kids.

BigDave

yes, crappy fashioncore kids. elitism

Gaz

elitist bastards kill scenes, all of them are scum.

I suggest everyone who likes intense and noisy Metalcore like Converge to check out The Hostage Heart. They released their Debut-EP "When There Is Despair, Hope" in August. Pretty good shit.

You can check out two of their songs here.

Ive been listening to a lot of Nora latley, they are such a good band, Dreamers and Deadmen is probably my favourite album by them.

Ive also been listening to a lot of Heaven Shall Burn (again), old Caliban, The Black Dahlia Murder (I know they are metal...but who cares), At The Gates and Everytime I Die.

@ Died20Times
- Nice to see you're still breathing this air, mate.

Been listening a lot to:
Symphony In Peril (great shit)
Dillinger Escape Plan (With Mike Patton)
Destiny - Diving Into Eternity (a lot better than The Tracy Chapter)

I heard everyone saying it's a total ripoff from Poison The Well and it's not as good as The Tracy Chapter. But if you say it's good, I'll def. have to check it out. ;)

Haha, it IS a total Rip Off of Poison The Well, mate. But it's pretty good still. Especially the song: "An Ardent Wish".

:D

Damn, guys, we need to find a way to get this thread back in action!

Any good solutions? Perhaps some games or something?

caLa

All the hc-guys are gone. Where's BigD, kisseveryscar and everyone else?
This thread gets boring without you.

Btw.: Diving Into Eternity is a good album. The production is much better than Tracy Chapter's, but I don't think it's good enough to top Tracy Chapter musically. ;)

And check out Life In Your Way. They're awesome:

@ CaLa
I agree with everything you said, man.

This thread is almost dead. It's gasping for air.

Btw, i think i got the new Hopesfall cd, just downloaded it off Soulseek.

It has songs called:
Shines Through
Lament
Endeavor

- It's more metal than hardcore. Sounds a bit boring. Any body know if this is the new album?

caLa

No, none of these tracks is on the record. The real tracklisting is as follows:

1. It Happens
2. Start & Pause
3. Icarus
4. Breathe From Coma
5. Champion Beyond Blessing
6. The Ones
7. Manipulate The Eclipse
8. Matchmaker's Haven
9. Owl
10. Per Sempre Marciamo

And their new album sounds a lot like Emo (much more singing etc.). It's not as heavy as their old songs.

died20times

yea, i was wondering the same. where the fuck is bigd and kisseveryscar at?

i've got one of life in your way's albums. it's pretty good. one of the better bands on indianola right now.

new hopesfall is gonna be good i think. i've heard a couple of the tracks and they sound good. i think i'm more excited for the new He Is Legend and The Chariot albums coming out next month.

zao, every time i die, misery signals and the mighty dillinger escape plan show tonight. man, i can't wait!

onlythclouds

misery signals. amazing band

@tribal. you got their first cd man. its called The Frailty Of Words.

caLa

The Chariot (ex-Norma Jean) have posted their new single "The Company, The Comfort, The Grave" online, you can find it here. The song is taken from the groups forthcoming Solid State debut, "Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, And Nothing Is Bleeding", which will see a November 16th release date.

pretty good.

ben

The Chariot sounds A LOT like Norma Jean to me...but what do i know.  The song sounds like it could come off of Bless the Martyr.
