:) Women played guitar before men? wow.

I was in a women's studies class last year and it was so amazing, we focused more on pop culture and how women are portrayed, we also learned a lot about eco-feminism.  And I agree with you mazzy, a woman is much more appealing creating art or music than trying to turn someone on for the sake of a picture or some cash..

All women are beautiful. however, when they are sharing music with the world (or even keeping it all to themselves), it is twice as attractive.

I honestly think attraction is an individual and undefinable quality that is different for every person.

In saying I think I'm in love with Sarah Polley.

i was taken aback too.

my friend did the course also and she is studying it in depth at the moment. i might later on in life. it was just heavy. we dealt with women's uprising in the 60's, feminisms incompatibility with islam, and women's roles in society. i loved it. i wasn't aware of half the things i learned. i'm glad for it. i think a lot of men would benefit with a women's study course, even if it were a six-month running course. i learnt so much in the first three months. the 'fun months' as i called them.

my teacher was really awesome too. she was an ethnic hazara. she had this crisp accent that just made you want to listen to her even if she was reading out the ingredients list from the back of a cereal box.

Yes..it should be mandatory for men to take a women's studies class (to become aware that patriarchy exists, to respect women and maybe propel people to adopt a less sexualized view of women). And women too (to help those who don't know realize that they can be liberated and can wish for better things in their lives...and to give them examples of women who have broken through glass ceilings etc.).
