And finally, we have Skeet Spirit: A Crunk Tribute to Radiohead produced by DJ GYNGYVYTUS. We haven't heard the tracks yet, but with titles such as "No Sizzuruprises" and "Talk Show Hoes", who can resist the temptation to check it out? Fortunately for us, it's available as a free download at this site.

Rockabye Baby! transforms timeless rock songs into beautiful instrumental lullabies. The delicate sounds of the glockenspiel, vibraphone, and other instruments will lull your little one into a sweet slumber. These versions of Radiohead are sophisticated enough for people of all ages, but sweet enough to introduce your child to rock's smartest band. Their album Kid A imagines the scope and power of music created by a newborn child. What will your baby dream about while drifting off to these serene interpretations of Radiohead's best-loved songs?

This rap thing is really bad. I thought it would be a mash up of rap songs and Radiohead.

skinnypuppy

the lullabye is nice.
the artwork is cute too.
now I just need to steal a baby...

Tomorrow's the big day when I get to see these guys, I'm shaking just thinking about it haha! So yeah, I'll report back about the show when I'm back on.

How was that show Chrisbo?

Chrisbo

Haha, how was it? Well lets just say it was nothing less than tremendous! They were amazing, and it felt amazing to be seeing Radiohead, a band I'd thought I'd  never get to see, a band I've loved ever since I heard 'Lucky' on a NOW collection back in 95. The atmosphere was great, seeing as there was about 22 and a half thousand people there, all singing back the words to classic songs. Here's the setlist and some pictures, and a brief description of the show because I dont have that much time (seeing Muse in an hour or two)

Airbag
2+2=5
The National Anthem
My Iron Lung
Morning Bell
Videotape
Nude
Lucky
The Gloaming
Where I End And You Begin
Paranoid Android
All I Need
Pyramid Song
Fake Plastic Trees
I Might Be Wrong
Idioteque
How To Disappear Completely

(encore 1)

You And Whose Army?
Bodysnatchers
Just
Karma Police

(encore 2)

There There
True Love Waits
Everything In Its Right Place
Creep

First off, got to say, the two support bands were pretty damn awesome as well. Deerhoof, never heard of them before, but they impressed me. Think disjointed madness ala Sonic Youth, Pixies, The Breeders, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc, then that's as close as I can get to describing them. The drummer was hitting the drums so hard he broke a few drumsticks mid-song haha! One to check out!

Then next came Beck, who was completely on form, he was ace. One of the most enjoyable and comfortable sets to sit through, filled with laughs and great tunes. I've never properly got into Beck, so I thought I wasnt going to know many songs he played. I'd say about 75% of the set, I recognised, it's amazing how you hear songs but never know who they are by. Well that's what it was like. They also had a puppet show going on in the background mimicking the band, and at one point they came out dressed in bear costumes. Nice! Also after their set, on the big monitors, they showed a wee film they made that day in Edinburgh (lots going on seeing as it's the festival and all) with the puppets which was fucking hilarious! Then there was an hour wait for....

RADIOHEAD!!! Absolutely tremendous! Kicking in with Airbag (which is what I said to my bro they'd play first for some reason), but yeah that was ace. The crowd were pretty calm for that, compared to what came after. Never did I think this gig was going to be so hectic as it was. As soon as the rocky part of 2+2=5 kicked in, the crowd just went wild, and I couldnt find my feet due to the crowd surges every 5 seconds (pain in the ass, but what can you do). People were passing out at the front and had to be lifted out, and there was crowd surfers aplenty haha! It got so hectic that during Morning Bell, Thom stopped the song and said 'Whoa whoa whoa! Come on guys! Where do you think you are? This isnt a metal gig or something. People are getting hurt down the front here, calm down and behave for gods sake. This is not the place or time to be acting like that', or something along the lines to that. Then they jumped back into the song exactly where they left it, which was cool! Thom was actually in pretty high spirits (earlier when Deerhoof were playing, we could see him at the side of the stage dancing and laughing and mucking around and stuff), and he was smiling alot, even cracked some jokes. Heh, before Paranoid Android he goes 'Ok, so we're going back to the day, when Radio 1 took risks, and played 7 minute songs. Not J-Lo. I mean nothing against her...I'm sure she's a nice person and all...but yeah um, here we go.' Haha! Paranoid Android has long been my favourite Radiohead song, and to see them play that was just out of this world! Other highlights were Karma Police and Lucky, the mass sing along was something spectacular! And then they ended with Creep, which was quite strange. Heh, Thom was laughing all the way through the intro as if to say 'What the fuck are we doing?', but yeah another mass sing-along. They screwed up the last line though when he says 'I dont belong here', and the smile on his face was pretty funny. BUT GOSH, I'VE SEEN RADIOHEAD!!! I probably never will again, so yeah cherished memories right here! Yuh-um, that was brief enough right?  :D ;D :D ;D

I saw them a couple a days ago @ pukkelpop and they were great. I can remember a girl shouting for Creep and that Thom said 'yeah we will play Creep, and repeat it endlessly' Can imagine that they get tired of playing it. Though i would have liked to hear it live.

^just download it man

Sounds awesome! And I think that's cool of Thom to try and help out the people up front. I know how bad it can get. And Paranoid Android is the best song they've ever done...in my opinion.

OneBloodyFist

Ok, can anyone do me a HUGE favor and find me the video of "The National Anthem" on Saturday Night Live? It's not on YouTube.

Oldnewtype

how in the fuck is that not on youtube

No idea, but I ended up finding it on MySpace anyway.

EDIT: A less specific search allowed me to find it on YouTube as well, so, problem solved.

Bayle

Thom cracks me up with his humor.

What's up with them playing Creep now, though? It's lnot like they cant sell out shows by not playing it... Do they honestly feel it's something they need to do to keep fans happy?
If they played Creep at the show I went to, I think it would have been horribly out of place. Creep was done during a different radiohead than there is now, and I personally like the current radiohead more anyway... It just doesnt translate live the way it used to.

Axe it, AXXXXXEEEEE ITTTT.
