i've never heard that opinion before. "to good to parent"? i'm not 100% sure what you mean by that. i think the biggest problem with parents, that i have witnessed, would be either parents trying to be friends with their kids and being WAY to lax. or just plan lazy and neglectful.

i agree that parents should teach their kids commom sense and right and wrong and not rely on school and the govenment to raise the kids. but pertaining to the whole cell-phone-while-driving discusion, i see no problem with making a law against something that is clearly dangerous yet people continue to do.

Jesus, when did the bull shit thread actually become the most intellectual thread on SL? This is why you Nazi mods just need to let threads run their course. anyways.....

A lot of parents in the US think they are too good to parent.  They think that they shouldn't have to discipline their child ( the lax example you gave ) or that their children should adore them because they are so awesome ( the friend example ) or simply that if their kids are fucked up, its not their fault.  Its  ADD or SLD or whatever the fuck pharmaceutical companies can charge you for to take responsibility off the parents.

"spare the rod, spoil the child" at least one verse that the bible got right."

It just seems to me that a lot of parents in America see their children as more of dogs or cats.  Just some creature that is supposed to serve them and make them happy so that they forget their fucking pathetic, miserable, lazy ass, useless lives they have allowed themselves to fall into due to their sloth.  Then when the child doesn't perform BOOM Ritalin or BOOM Prozac, now I'm a good parent again.  Its fucking pathetic.

Talking about kids.

I need to develop myself in my work as a teacher.

Can you describe a perfect teacher for you? Or what was the best teacher you met. (I teach English).

alright i see what your saying now. i'm not trying to nitpick but "to good to parent" doesn't sit right with me as an explanation though. that makes it come across as arrogance, and i think its has much more to do with responsibility. not wanting to be accountable for their kids. and with all that said some kids are just bad. no matter how well they were raised.

at the same time i don't agree with balming the parents all the time. its different with every case. but it pisses me off when kids, teenagers, adults blame their parents for everything. i think personal accountablity is practically dead. parents don't want to take responsibility for kids. and then kids blame everything on the parents. its a vicious cycle.

i definitly agree with not over medicating kids. when the fuck did it become bad for a little kid to act like a kid? yes they need to be able to sit through a class without exploding, but pills are not the answer for every kid that would rather play than work/learn...which is damn near every kid.

I'm a pretty kick ass mom. :p  I'm my kids friend and parent and I'm not afraid to pop my kids ass if they get out of line. I don't believe in being super strict, all Hitler style, with my kids though. To me,they are only a kid once, and having a childhood where your parents were always in your shit isn't something you want to look back on. Also, now day's,parents need to watch how they act, cause you never know when your kids gonna snap and shoot you or a school up. Sad but true. But there should always be limits. Luckily,I have pretty well behaved kiddos.

Oh..and I am NOT a Nazi!!  ;D

it looked like the end of the world in my city tonight. the whole side of the city blacked out. so there was absolutely no power. i mean no power. no streetlights. no redlights. no lights. just cops sirens.

there was also a huge brushfire on the mountain. so the top of the mountain engulfed in flames was the view behind the city while it sat there in blackness.

after driving my friend home. we were coming down the mountain. and the fire was right next to us. it was crazy cause most of the trees were going to snap and fall into the road. while on fire.
as we got to the bottom we saw the cops flying up the hill to go close the road off.

the blackout was nuts just cause wilkes barre is gangsterland. so everyone sat out on there porches. watching there houses.

we sat in my backyard in my friends car smoking bongs

I'm Not Here.

I imagine that as a quite nice (though scary) experience.
I like how me and my friends, when tripping somewhere in the city always notice some things that usually never happen. For example, once we were lying on the grass watching the sky, and just at that moment many air baloons started rising up to the sky.. all coloured differently.. or the other time when we watched a very interesting water/air plane take off from one of the lakes nearby.

and of course the expected one - discussing for two hours how those two hours passed and we yet have no plans for further action that we were discussing those two hours. or staring at a blossom for half an hour and trying to understand if some world lies beneath that flower lol. anyway.
