Those companies would probably be more than happy to acknowledge their involvment with the nazi party if they thought an appology is all that was being asked of them.  But they know that if they apologize that it will be an admitance of guilt and the families of holocaust victoms will sue the shit out of them.....yeah thats justice lets just risk out company and have to lay off thousands of people so that we can acknowledge one of the most well known events in history......hmmmmm

plus one thing that most people forget is that the holocaust was not know about until the very end of the war.  Hitler was just seen as.....violently ambitious.  But no one knew he was attempting genocide.  If the Governments of the allies had no clue to the holocaust.  I doubt bayer did.  Therefore it would be ridiculous to ask them to put their companies and employees jobs at risk for something that not only they had nothing to do with, but their predecessors probably had no clue they were involved with. 
  Plus wars are expensive.  and some of those companies were bringing money INTO the american economy FROM the german.  Money that helped us fight a war ( I guarentee you their profits were taxed)  So if you want to spin that they helped the Nazi party, you aslo have to spin it that they helped America defeat Hitler......or, we could just all be reasonable and not point the finger for once.

And yeah, a strong economy is important and I have a lot of respect for people willing to "do whatever it takes" to accomplish.  That is why the US is where it is.  But people have a conscience now, so now our society will collapse because of everyones bleeding hearts.  We will see how evil everyone thinks those corporations are when they cant even heat their homes.
