Yeah dude, everybody who thinks that the current strength in the dollar is anything but the mirror image of euro weakness is an idiot. That's the only thing keeping the dollar afloat at the moment... well, besides China, but that's nothing new either. People are slowly relearning about monetary policy, unfortunately, it's all outside of the US and Europe. Canada's dollar isn't so bad though, nor Australia or New Zealand from what I've heard, and you can see that the dollar is losing against these currencies as opposed to strengthening across the board.

I dunno, it's really tough to say. Greenspan was a die-hard free marketer back in the day, like he was actually for the gold standard. So I dunno, he's definitely a traitor, whether he knows it or not. Bernanke has proven he's pretty out to lunch in every capacity, but that's something I wonder about all the time. Because I can see them being sinister characters, but at the same time, I can imagine that they're so surrounded by yes-men and piss-poor economists that they could actually believe in this shit. I have a really hard time believing that they can still believe that the Fed is the great price stabilizer, God what a crock.
