this horrid question is incomplete!!!
because the velocity will not be linear .,..the velocity will reduce as it goes up, depending on the acceleration that youve thrown it with....the ball will not go up at 30ft/s all the way and then suddenly start downwards.. it slows down due to gravity.. decelaration (inverse acceleration), till it reaches a speed of 0 ft/s, then it starts its jpourney back down. ALSO "from 6 ft" means you started by standing on a wall 6 ft high and threw a ball up...if the ball has gone up by 6ft before heading down then its a 2 line answer and i dont know the fomula to calculate decelaration so this is a no go!!
