Youth in Revolt - 8.5/10

Original, weird and straight up hilarious.

Sushi-X

El Mariachi. Pretty good for the low budget it was filmed on. Kinda reminded me of a cheesey kung fu movies.

agreed. it really was a pleasant surprise for me. but also it's hard to screw up a movie that features the combination of Fred Willard, Ray Liotta, and Zach Galifianakis as supporting actors.

Predators - 8.5/10 - really enjoyed it. loved how it was a sequel instead of another remake/reboot. Adrien Brody surprised me, definitely no Arnold action hero, but it's nice to see him acting in even more genres lately.

When Danny Boyle, Alex Garland, Cillian Murphy and John Murphy make a movie together, it is awesome.  I just watched Sunshine again and this movie is really cool.  After seeing it a second time I can understand why some people don't like the last third.  It would have been interested to see where the movie would have gone had it not gone down the direction it did go.  But still, definitely one of my favorite movies.

I have to agree on the last third of the movie actually. I is quite interchangable, though Sunshine is one of my favorite movies too. The soundtrackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Sweet. Had that movie for a while now, but haven't watched it yet.

Philip Seymour Hoffman can do no wrong.

watched Pandorum last night. great movie. sure, not very original, but I think it had a lot more intelligent writing than most similar movies. acting was so-so, but holy shit is Antje Traue hot!

I ended up buying it and was actually impressed.

holy shit, i second the Antje Traue hotness comment. and as a whole Pandorum was a pleasant surprise for me too. Then again I watched it right after seeing Legion, which I absolutely despised. I mean after Legion's awfulness, I was making comparisons of Pandorum to Aliens.

and speaking of films with Ben Foster, last movie i saw was The Messenger with Foster and Woody Harrelson. nothing really spectacular, but the story was pretty good and Harrelson was good for a dramatic role.
