Quote from: "Mazzy"I know it's really violent in the beginning. My friend is a movie reviewer and he reviewed it for his final grade and he had to go outside for oxygen when he watched it for the first time. He said the rape scene was the hardest thing he's ever had to watch...ever.

I'm really really keen to watch it.

I was aware of the rape scene before, and joked around with a friend of mine that it wouldn't be as terrible as everyone said it would be and then I watched it. I teared up a little bit when watching that scene and turned my head away at certain points.

For anyone who says Monica can't act should see that one scene. It's great acting for being improvised.

People are always dubbing her as 'the pretty face' and excusing the fact that she is a good actress. I really want to see it. I think I'll hire it this week along with Love Liza.

its about time. i like Philip Seymour Hoffman a lot. it's about time he got a leading role. and the movie turned out great so no surprise there.

Mazzy

I swear Eric, if it's crap I'm sending you a slap in the mail.

BUTTT I see it has Kathy Bates in it and she's always given me intense pleasure...ok that sounded all wrong  :? I like the films she's been in.

manic_bastard

it won't be crap. trust me. it's a Mariam-Friendly movie with all the necessary Mariam-Friendly elements you like. intense pleasure? she'll give you a double whammy when youre watching this movie!

Mazzy

That answer does not reassure me in any way. I never got the whole concept of the double whammy.

..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

The Captain

I liked the cover of A Tale Of Two Sisters more than ht emovie, it was boring and sad more than anything.

Mazzy

Look 'Brian', I don't do Myspace haha I nearly came when I saw the Ian picture and dude, you spelt 'Malkovich' wrong  :( I'm really anal about last names.

Ahhh..I didn';t know there was a K. I have to say though...it does look better with the K.

And TayTay...I liked the movie because of the cinematography and just the weird ending. Ummm...I'm sorry you didn't like it??? :?
..Yeah don't go there,

yeah yeah.

The Captain

I wanted to love it cause I loved the cover (the cover pic is his background for those who don't know) some of the cinematography was really good, but I think all the best stuf was early on...I feel stupid for expressing myn opinion randomly.

Jerry_Curls

Haha how is it random if we are in the Movie thread...silly taytay.

Anyone like Audition?
..Yeah don't go there,

yeah yeah.

im still waiting to see Last Days. it always reminds me how much i love movies about music. not documentaries so to speak, but just films that just revolve around a certain musical era. like Velvet Goldmine. i liked that movie a lot. but they should make a movie that revolves around the grunge era with all of these actors playing various famous musicians. thatd be interesting.

I need to see Love, Liza too. I heart Philip Seymour Hoffman.

And yes, the Monica I'm talking about is the Monica in The Matrix Revolutions.

Mazzy

I hired Dawn Of The Dead and Love Liza yesterday and I'm watching them both tonight. Irreversible is out on new release so I will get that when I go next.

I can't wait for Love Liza, there's been a lot of anticipation.

youre going to like it. and i cant wait until you say YEAH! ERIC WAS RIGHT! IT WAS SO GOOD!

Mazzy

Or the slap in the mail!!

Is it a good movie to watch with your mum?

manic_bastard

yeah i'd say so. only one scene with nudity in it, and it's not sexual. just a lot of swearing and drug scenes.

Mazzy

My mum doesn't mind that kinda stuff. She'll just talk about drugs being bad for 40 minutes straight...

Azwethinkweiz

Have anyone seen the movies Kids and Bully by Larry Clark?
I've heard alot about them, they should both be very disturbing and realistic. (very strong rape scenes, drugs, etc.)
