OK, so the other day I got...

Monkeybone - It's one of those movies where I always thought I'd see it, but somehow hadn't and it was starting to bother me and I passed it so I just grabbed it, not expecting much, but just to shake that feeling. I was pleasantly sdurprised, I liked it a lot, it was worth my time for Miss Kitty alone, rawr, haha. No, but seriously, it was a cool story with a cool world...and it's a little similar to Cool World actually. Chris Kattan isn't in it as much as I thought he'd be, but I think he does a great job that most people wouldn't even think about...I'd explain but....I'm lazy

Igby Goes Down - Good suggestion! I liked it a lot, smart, witty, mean and fucked up, good times. I loved Bill Pullman the most though.

wow...it's been a while since i've been on the board.

well i'm now enrolled in a horror film class and i thought i would share, with those of you interested, a few films that really gave me the creeps/changed the way i viewed horror...

some of you may have seen Kwiadan. very good japanese horror

The Act of Seeing with One's Own Eyes (1971) this film is VERY graphic and not for those who have trouble with thier stomach :wink: it was made by the founder of the film studies program at my univeristy...a fantastic experimental filmmaker. this film explores the human body through the silence of an autopsy room. vivid imagery and great 16mm photography. also pretty dificult to find.

Nuit et brouillard (1955) French New Wave director Alain Resnais takes a journey through post Nazi Aushwitz. but with olf film from WWII he is able to recapture the intensity of the Holocaust.

i'll post more when i see them... they will probably be more conventional towards classical "horror" genre.

i cant believe the girl in it is the same as in mean girls. and the dude in it for some reason reminds me of jesse!!! probably the hair.

i just saw a movie called Funny Haha on the sundance channel.
i liked it a lot. i guess a lot of people hated it cause it was bland and there really wasn't much element to it.

i could relate to the characters in the movie. i found it enjoyable.

pretty excited for the new Jodie Foster movie as well...though i forgot the name. hopefully it's as good as i thought Panic Room was.
