I haven't seen the movie, but I was shocked it was well-received. The trailer looks God awful.
exactly. I couldn't believe it.

Oh, and by the way, go ahead and avoid rotten tomatoes, imdb etc and read the best review about this stupid movie.

Watched The Town.

Good, but not great. The fact, that some people are comparing it to Heat, is simply ridiculous.

people compare it to Heat? that's crazy.

if anything it's a rip off of Heat.

Finally, after some 5 years or so sat in my collection, I plucked up the balls to watch 'Irreversible'.  Holy  fucking christ almighty.  Not a film to watch with the grandparents.

chick de la lynch

I don't think I could watch Irréversible with anyone. I think that's a movie you should just watch alone. I still consider it a favorite of mine, though.

lukas989

Tis a thought provoker for sure.  I know what you mean but...it would be hard to be as relaxed with someone after having watched it with them.  I was pretty much on edge in expectation of similar tough viewing to the extinguisher scene which caught me right off guard...but then nothing can really prepare you for such a prolonged stint of Monica Bellucci abuse.  Lots of eye rubbing and heavy exhaling.

Just watched Winter's Bone, about a girl who is trying to find her meth-cooking father in the back woods of Missouri. A little slow moving, but GREAT performances all around (especially John Hawkes and Jennifer Lawrence). Plus there's squirrel gutting!

9/10

Yeah, I seen that in the movie theatre  - enjoyed it a lot.  Went on the strength of a trailer I'd seen.  Just as well really - I read a review in the paper a few days later that totally mauled it.  The reviewer was talking shit though people - check it out.

Me too, I've seen him in a lot of shit lately, which is good to see. Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks) was also in this movie actually, albeit very briefly.

I saw Monsters, Inc. last night. Great film, and I actually was doing pretty well right up until the last fifteen minutes. That ending nearly killed me. I haven't bawled that much since I saw Up.

Pixar films bring me back to my childhood, and that's why I love their films. They makes films for kids without having to compromise integrity or intelligence.

lukas989

Ive got this obsession with rekindling memories from my childhood...often however, re-viewing stuff I was mad about as a young un is not quite as effective on my now elderly (comparatively...Im not a grandpa or anything) brain.  I hadmittedly havent seen any of the pixar films...maybe Ill give em a bash.  My poor firstborn is going to have to endure a LOT of me pushing dvd boxsets of the cartoon series of Dungeons and Dragons and the Mysterious Cities of Gold as well as stuff like Eerie Indiana.  Maybe its a blessing for him/her, who knows.

Monster Inc. is definitely one of my favorite Pixar movies. I'm worried that the sequel they are doing wont be as good.

chick de la lynch

I'm not sure how Pixar does when it comes to sequels, and yes, I'm one of the few losers who has yet to see Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3, but they're on my Netflix queue! I think a Monsters, Inc. sequel could do well. Pixar manages to make stories with a lot of heart and lovable characters. I'm going to be optimistic for the time being.

And Lukas, definitely watch a Pixar film! You'll love 'em, but if you're anything like me have a box of tissues close by.
