academy award nominees came out today:

here's my big predictions:

Brokeback Mountain wins best pic
Joaquin wins best actor
Reese wins best actress
Jake Gyllenhall best male support
...and so on. i don't feel like going through all of them

edit: oh yeah, and Ang Lee best director

Joaquin best actor? No way. Hoffman's got it. I haven't seen Capote or Walk The Line but come on. Hoffman dominates when it comes to the amount of awards he has already received for his work in Capote. And I'd give Giamatti the supporting win.



I'm rather tired of biopics. Only two of the best pictures noms were not based on true stories.  It's pretty lame.

dude, Jaoquin is awesome in walk the line. it's all his voice on those songs, and he plays johnny cash to the T. hoffman was great in that film, but i still think Joaquin had the better performance
