Quote from: "one weak"anyone seen New World yet? i heard that it was good.

I saw it.  Now keep in mind my short review is based off of a 10 a clock showing at night and I had little sleep. I was tired.

I really liked Malick's style but the poetic love story nature went on for a little too long. I actually liked Colin in this movie.  Maybe because he's quiet. In fact, the entire movie is pretty quiet. It's a visual wonder that didn't need to be close to two and a half hours long. Had it had 15 minutes taken off, it wouldh ave been better.

one weak

interesting. i heard that Malick already took it out of theatres once and cut 12 minutes from it.

thanks for the review. i'll def. check it out for the fact that 99% of the film was shot without any artificial light. malick owns

OH man the cinematography is amazing. Definitely oscar worthy.  Actually it will probably win that award.

One Weak - since we have the same passion for movies and moviemaking i gotta ask, who is your fav director, fav movie and what have inspired you?

one weak

Favorite director- Stan Brakahge. he's an avant-garde filmmaker who recently passed away. his films are much more directed to life and the study of film itself than to entertain

Movie- hmmm...i love so many, but i would say anything during the french new wave period. Truffaut, Goddard, Resnais, Marker etc. don't get me wrong, i love hollywood shit too. i think clint eastwood is making great films these days

what inspires me?- i suppose seeing one of my films up on a large screen. i have made 4 films, and two of them got to be displayed in front of a large crowd, so that was really cool. i would love to post them on the board for everyone to see, but i don't know how.
