Quote from: "manic_bastard"its one of my favorite movies. jeff goldblum is very good in it and i liked the ending. though it was pretty sad.

yea that was a very sad ending.. i havent seen it since i was a kid and i always thought it was cool cause he broke that dudes arm and could melt peoples arms and legs into nubs ....but since im older it was like watching it for the first time.. its now in my top 5.

The Captain

Recently watched...

Kicking & Screaming which was OK, Will has done better and worse, so yeah, plus it's a family movie so it had limitations.

Psycho (1960) - I'd never seen it before so I decided I had to. It seemed to drag on and it's not very scary at all by todays standards, but it was cool, well acted.

Psycho (1998) - HORRIBLE! Beautifully shot, but Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore, 2 actors I normally like, were bad choices and Anne Heche and Viggo Mortensen are just horrible actors, especially Anne, dreadful...seriously, like drag hger into the street and hang her in front of townspeople horrible...awful...the first scene felt like a abd high school play...hell, bad Jr. High play.....Vince had some moments though, but overall it just wasn't acted very well, it felt awkward and rushed most of the time.

All this talk of The Fly makes me think I should choose that as my next comparison set, I haven't seen either in years.

Tonight I also watched Doom. It was an entertaining action movie like I expected and with some cool stuff from the game (meaning Doom 3 which it was based on) like BFG, chainsaw and Hell Knights...but nothing more. At least I wasn't really disappointed except for the ending.

I just saw Doom too and I wasn't disappointed since I didn't expect it to be good at all. actually, I was more like pleasantly surprised. I hate what they did with the story though.... I would have loved it if they had made it more like a horror movie instead of dumbed down action. and why oh why did they have to change the story from demons and hell to that scientific bullshit? there are enough such action movies out there already.

anyways, I loved towards the ending when you saw everything from his perspective and the chainsaw and all that. that was cool.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep

Yeah, the FPS-view was cool and actually one of the best parts of the movie (chainsaw vs. pinky demon...just like the old times :P ).

The mutation-thing got quite a few fans of the game mad but even though I would've liked to see the red rocks, the lava, the demonic images, I wasn't too disappointed to this solution. Meh, they kinda created hell on mars...I don't know, maybe the hell is in mars. Maybe it's a metaphor??

I'm wondering if the monsters are released to a sequel...hell on earth?

My step-brother's friend is in that.

I was thinking about seeing that along with Bewtiched a while back just because of Will.

The Captain

Bewitched was better than expected, Will is great in it

feeling like more

IFC channel rules. saw this movie Samurai 2 last night ...its a foriegn film from the 50s  . pretty damn good.

ChickdelaLynch

I saw Remember Me, My Love tonight. I was expecting it to be better, partially because of Monica Bellucci, but also because the plot was somewhat interesting. It was just ok.

A little overdramatic, especially Laura Morante. She screamed in every other scene. I'm not sure if all these actors were overdramatic or if that's the way Italians usually act while getting an arguement. The character Paolo was rather cute.

William Hurt is a great actor....

the movie "Smoke" is great and "The Doctor" isnt bad either...

The Captain

I tried to watch Last Days, but I got bored and turned it off. I dunno, I liked that almost documentary style realism in Elephant, but for this I would've liked more story/dialogue.

When I turned off Last Days, I put in Me and You and Everyone We Know which was funny...weird, but funny.
))><(( hahahaha
