I watched The Descent tonight. pretty darn scary. I rarely get scared from horror flicks anymore, but this one did freak me out at certain points. I really liked is, eventhough it was full of clichés and you pretty much knew exactly what to expect all the time. I loved the little bit of dark humor thrown in there too.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep

Quote from: "one weak"i just watched Salo in my horror film class. it was by far the most disguting, immoral, violent, and sadistic film i have ever seen.

if anyone ever has the chance to watch it, do yourself a favor and DONT. i seriously can't even eat right now, and i can handle some pretty harsh stuff.

The plot outline sounds...uh, interesting.

there's a class like that? cool!

one weak

it's pretty badass. the only thing is i have had to read like 7 novels over the course of the semester....like Dracula, Frankenstein, Beowulf, etc. it's a fuckload of work

Azwethinkweiz

cool man. are you in college?

Hmmm..now I kind of want to watch it. I like controversial filsm and this seems to be in that genre. But is it actually "horror" (ie: scary) or is it just like horrorific scenes (blood, gaping wounds, etc)?
..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

Crazylegs

Liar liar pants on fire.

The Captain

Just finished a little House Of Wax marathon...

Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933)
House of Wax (1953)
House of Wax (2005)

The '53 version is a lot like the original, but better I'd say, but neither of those were very scary or even really creepy by todays standards. This year's effort was much more gory and had a lot more suspense, but the essence of the first 2 wasn't there really. I was a cool night though, the contrast of generations.

Azwethinkweiz

^ nice.

i love the part in the 2005 version where Bo cuts the tip of her finger off. So unexpected and sadistic :D

The Captain

Not Bo, Vincent

Azwethinkweiz

No, Vincent is the one with the fucked up face.

The Captain

Yeah, you're right, I kept getting confused, it seems like they called Bo Vincent too sometime.

Just watched it or actually fast forwarded to the "best parts". Pretty disturbing stuff there but didn't do too much for me (I was eating crackers and chocolate at the same time  ). Maybe I need to watch it properly once I get subtitles...

And I got interested in The Descent too.

Tonight I also watched Doom. It was an entertaining action movie like I expected and with some cool stuff from the game (meaning Doom 3 which it was based on) like BFG, chainsaw and Hell Knights...but nothing more. At least I wasn't really disappointed except for the ending.

Mazzy

I watched Scarlet Diva last night. Asia Argento was really awesome. I found some bits a bit over the top but the music and the whole setting went well. So many time during the movie I was just frowning at Anna's choices but I realised I would've done the same given the situation.

hydroponic82

laugh at me if you want, but i saw that 80's remake of "the fly" for the first time in years last night  and i thought it was  really good. i never realized how good that movie really is . they should re-remake it now that they have good sp. effects and such. i think it would be a hit.

manic_bastard

its one of my favorite movies. jeff goldblum is very good in it and i liked the ending. though it was pretty sad.

dusttones

I just watched Gus Van Sant's Last Days...it sucks.
