Wonderland is pretty good

Just finnished watching Cheech and Chong: Up In Smoke

Classic haha

@Mazzy: I completely agree with you on the aussie films thing. People do need to shed some more light on Aussie films because there is some fine australian movies out there. But like someone said before, there will always be that stereotype that they suck.

i suggest yall to watch a movie called " the door in the floor" featuring Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger. I think it came out last year and why its supposed to be a drama , i found it fucking hilarious.

I watched another great Australian movie yesterday, Beneath Clouds. It's about Lena, the daughter of an Aboriginal mother and an Irish father and Vaughn, a Murri boy who is doing time in a minimum security prison in North West NSW. Crazyslashdramatic events throw them together and with no money or transport, they find themselves relying on each other in order to achieve their personal journeys - which both lead to different situations. I read the directors, Ivan Sen, comment's on what each of the characters represent to each other and he said something like to Lena, Vaughn represents the life she is running away from and Vaughn believes Lena embodies the society that has rejected him.

I loved the scene where Vaugh finds out that Lena is Aboriginal. My god, I was shaking in my jammy's and I stopped doing whatever I was doing cause I was like 'omg, he's got you now bitch'. Fucking A. I loved it. I thought the landscape was magnificent, it showed the hillside and the route to Sydney.

Saw this movie towards the start of this year i think, fantastic aussie movie imo. Whatched it several times now.

There's an Art festival in Melbourne and they're playing this movie along with other Australian films. I just laugh when people say 'the Australian film industry is suffering' uhhh yeah cause all the films that get the most promotion are the lame stereotypical ones. There are so many fucking awesome movies being made by Australian film makers that don't see the light of day and the Australian public is just as much to blame. The first week in which Somersault opened I was in the movie theatre and there were three people in there, THREE. I just think that we have to be considerate and go check out and support Aussie films.

You should check out Jewboy, it's brilliant.

there is a reason why people dont watch australian films. because there are so many shit ones that people now assume they are all gonna be like that.

I don't agree. There's been a decline in shit movies over the past few years. The amount and quality of Aussie movie's nowadays are getting me so darn excited. It really feels like we're getting our heads out of our arses and making the movies we need to make.

wolf creek would be the only reasonably succesfull australian movie in years

Blehh, have you watched the Proposition? You'll change your mind after seeing that movie. Like I said before, Jewboy is awesome, the Oyster Farmer is ok, Look Both Ways was nice and Three Dollars was surprisingly good. Little Fish is mighty fine for a little movie. The AFI's were on last night. Ohh man Russell Crowe was funny. He took the piss out of himself. It was good to see.

Malpractice

i highly disagree

i thought it was a great movie

The Captain

Yeah, Some Kind Of Monster is a damn good documentary. I don't even care for Metallica much, but it kept me interested enough to watch the whole movie plus the bonus footage.

Recently watched:

Lords of Dogtown and yeah yeah, I'm sure most of you think it's the usual trendy teen flick, but it was written by Stacy Peralta himself and it was pretty good, I'm gonna watch it with commentary in a few minutes.

Dot the I - a little predictable, but worth the watch for sure. Definitely gonna look out for Natalia Verbeke more, she's beautiful.

Fuck box office success. That doesn't mean a movie's shit or anything. Most of the movie's that people end up liking are the movie's that did terrible at the box office. I'm not a fan of blockbuster movie's either. They just remind me of how sad the world is. The Proposition did well actually, I think it was for the fact that Nick Cave was involved and that it was written as a 'Nick Cave movie' when it wasn't, he just wrote the screenplay and the music score.

The Captain

Just finished Immortal Beloved which I know I'd seen part of before, but apparently not all of. It was good, great cast, but I wish they could've done a biopic closer to the man and not through the mystery of the immortal beloved.

I <3 Gary Oldman

Azwethinkweiz

Watched Mr and Mrs Smith yesterday. I was a little dissapointed, but it was pretty good and funny and DAMN, Angelina is teh sex. *drool*

rating 7/10

Well, for my birthday I got to see Walk The Line and it was great. Joaquin was freakin' hot, but I was very much impressed with his performance. He did a really great job acting. Same with Reese Witherspoon.
