he says it isn't. he comments on the picture saying that it doesnt describe the storyline at all. but some scenes do take place there.

man, i hope its good.

The Captain

It might be, but I really think it's just panic after Jersey Girl bombed which makes me sad. Jersey Girl was good and if Clerks 2 sucks it will only tarnish his past work.

Speaking of Kevin Smith, he was on Veronica Mars a couple weeks ago and I heard the episode/s of him on Degrassi finally aired/are airing.

Azwethinkweiz

Just watched Ring 2.

Is this what they call scary nowadays? omg.. piece of garbage.

the degrassi episodes aired in the US back in august and in canada like 6 months before that. they are actually going to release the 4 episodes kev and jay were in on a dvd soon.

about Clerks 2 though i think it will be great and i can't wait to see it. i was a naysayer of the film at first but after keeping up with the making of it and watching kevin's diary of the film being made so far on the askew board i think this is going to be one of the best view askew films yet

this is what it says underneath that image on the view askew site

Based on this image, I'll pre-answer some of the queries I can already hear buzzing through your heads:

Does this tell the whole story? No.

Is our movie "Waiting 2″? No.

What about Quick Stop?

What about it?

Is it still in there?

Of course.

Is there a God?

Yes. It's either a Supreme Being who crafted the universe and plots all our moves outside of the free will choices we make, or Clapton. I lean toward the former - especially after shooting "Clerks 2″ for the last week. Because God's been good to us - inasmuch as, thus far, it's a funny, wonderful-looking film. The performances of the main cast have been tight and spot-on, and the day players have been great as well. I don't know if the flick'll live up to anyone else's expectations, but it's sure as fuck met and exceeded mine (I should point out, however, that as a fat man, I maintain very low expectations when it comes to anything in life but lard-based food). Can't wait to share it with ya'll.

Back to work for me.

did the guy who made that Waiting movie honestly think he can pull off a lame Clerks ripoff?

i loved the Clerks Animated series. anyone with me?
i really wish they'd get on with the Clerks Animated Movie. i hope they didn't abandon the idea. everyone's so used to Family Guy fart jokes that they dont realize how incredibley funny that show was.

oddly enough the director of that movie is on the View Askew board along with some of the cast and it turns out the director pretty much worships clerks and as you can tell he basically ripped it off to make his movie. i don't think kevin is a big fan ot it either considering he took a few little jabs at it already but i think he isn't saying much about since the guy is a fan.

actually Family Guy can be attributed to the death of the Clerks Cartoon. The network basically never understood the Clerks Cartoon and wanted them to dumb it down to appeal to the Family Guy audience in hopes of taking some viewers away from Fox. Everyone who worked on the Clerks cartoon hates Family Guy as well i don't know if you ever watched the commentary on the Clerks Cartoon DVD but they take quite a few shots at Family Guy and Seth McFarlane they actually added a few gags about him in the show too. and yes the Clerks cartoon was amazing and glad to see another fan of it on here

i like the  "How To Write Cartoons by Seth McFarlane" gag they had. haha
it pisses me off how they tried to make them dumb down the show just for the family guy audience. the show had such clever dialogue.

I watched Tiresia on SBS last night.

Troubled man kidnaps a stunningly attractive transsexual. Contemporary version of ancient Greek myth made up of two parts. New French Cinema about religion and sexual identity: alienating, fascinating and occasionally shocking.

Tiresia is a contemporary version of the Greek myth in which a hermaphrodite being is blinded by a goddess, but this is compensated by the gift of clairvoyance. The film is made up of two parts, accompanied by the imposing sounds of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony. In the first part, Tiresia (Clara Choveaux), a stunning Brazilian transsexual, is kidnapped and locked up by a man called Terranova (Laurent Lucas), who is possessed by pretty macabre thoughts. He considers that in Tiresia - a beauty created by man -he has found the perfect rose, superior to the work of God. So he is not planning to share his 'rose' with anyone. Locked up and deprived of hormone therapy, Tiresia however starts to lose her female attributes. In a gruesome scene, Terranova blinds Tiresia and leaves his now male victim for dead in the woods. There he is found by the angelic Anna, who is determined to help him. Tiresia (now played by Thiago Telès) turns out to be clairvoyant. This most likely ungodly characteristic attracts the attention of the village priest. So this is not an everyday story. Bonello is a special film maker, who beautifully designed his theme (identity, sexuality, religion, myth). With grateful thanks to the actors, who bring to life the occasionally extremely difficult and secretive characters with control and conviction.

I heard Dahli made a movie once. I want to see it. Something about a decaying dog.
..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

Dali helped with a few movies and acted in a few. most notably he wrote co-wrote screenplays and designed dream sequences (ie: as in surrealism).

Un Chien Andolou and L'age d'or are the two films i've seen that he co-wrote/planned. they are surreal as a motherfucker and some of the crazier films as well. you really have to study and understand surrrealism/dadism/expressionism to really know what's going on.

at one point, in the first film, this guy is hauling a grand piano around the room of his apartment with a rope, and lying on top of the piano is a dead, decaying carcass of a mule or horse. and a guy cuts open his eyeball with a razor blade :!:

the films are awesome and i would recomend them to anyone who wants to have their mind opened up completely to some crazy shit.

Jerry_Curls

Thanks for all the info! My teacher mentioned it to us and now I want to know where I can find the movies. Blockbuster?

naw i doubt it. yeah at least not here in colo. maybe in LA though.

anyway, it might be easier to look under Luis Bunuel because he is credited as director on both those films. i'm not sure what else Dali did besides those, but they are both really cool.
