uhm. every bong i've ever smoked has a slide ( where the weed goes ) and u  suck in on the bong until u fill it totally with smoke.. then u pull the slide out and all the smoke shoots to your lungs



so how the hell would a carb work ona bong??

well, some cheap plastic bongs or homemade ones use carbs to as u say , let the smoke shoot up your lungs. so those , cant be pulled , the downstem just stays put, and when u hit the bong, u have to cover the carb at the same time as ur hitting it, then when the bong is filled with smoke, u uncover the carb and inhale the rest of the smoke in the bong. and thats how a carb on a bong works   .
