And I'm just getting the new Pretty Girls Make Graves. I liked the one song I heard from this new effort. Should be good.

So i've realized I haven't contributed anything for about a year.  So check out these bands, some new, some old, and I'm sure some you'll hate and love.

Mineral- This is for fans of old Sunny Day Real Estate. This band only had two albums back in the 90s and it is pretty laid back and chill.

Texas is the Reason- another oldstyle emo band from Texas like Mineral, except they have a louder more faster approach.  They were supposed to be the next big thing around 1999...but they broke up in 1998 after an EP and an LP.

A Wilhelm Scream- basically, if Rise Against was good. A lot of speedish kinda pop-punk...eh i dunno check it out.

Appleseed Cast- once hailed as "the american Radiohead", these guys make slow songs that suddenly burst into melodic loud parts...they've changed over the years and a ton of albums. I reccomend their older stuff.

Bear Vs Shark-  Broke up a few months ago.  Their first album reminds me a lot of Middle-stage ATDI and they're great for driving.  Their second album Terrorhawk is really good and uses a lot of different shit.

Chin Up Chin Up- a really good indie band from chicago.  I got their album from no name cola about a year ago. Really awesome chill music.

Clair De Lune- awesome band from Minnesota. Has a piano and reminds me of very good post-punk, like an updated fugazi mixed with some atdi and some kinda stoner qualities to it.

Engine Down- cool band who had a person from Denali.  They broke up after a few albums, and their lead singer is now in Sparta.

The Fall of Troy- Prog, hardcore, and TMV-influence all wrapped up into a crazy little band.  Awesome stuff.

Hint Hint- Indie/keyboard music from Seattle. Awesome chill stuff, good driving music. check it out.

Hot Cross- former members of Saetia have formed this slightly hardcore, mostly post-punk band.  Reminds me a little bit of atdi at moments, but is mostly oldstyle punk, but very updated.

On the Might of Princes- awesome band that broke up a few years back.  Kinda emo, kinda relaxing, mostly awesome.  pretty raw and nice.

Portugal the Man- awesome band formed out of the ashes of Anatomy of a Ghost. Kind of like hiphop/alternative pop/TMV influences.  GREAT stuff.

These Arms Are Snakes- Crazy band, using post-punk, keyboards, seattle influences, and punk-like singing to get shit across. Their upcoming album is going to be glorious.

Ben, do you know if TAAS have recorded the new album yet?
..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

ben

I don't know, they've been playing some shows with Isis recently.

Other than that, their website has been down for a month or longer and not much new is being posted on jadetree or their myspace.  So who knows.  I know it's supposed to come out this year though.

They're a good band. What's wrong with that?

I'm starting to get into She Wants Revenge. Now that's embarrassing.
