Just download their record 'London Calling', its their most cohesive work. Anyway its not for everyone but its certainly one of the biggest punk bands out there before real punk died.

Other good punk (imo because opinions really differ on punk): Bad Brains, Refused, Fugazi, NOFX, Transplants, Mad Caddies, Anti Flag, the Hives, and of course (the band I consider punk) At The Drive-In
