Yeah that's actually wild to go on an arena tour during this resurgence they've been experiencing and over 4 years since the last album with a new one apparently nearly done and not play anything new lol

Quote from: Vesanic on Feb 26, 2025, 06:39 AMHow are they holding up playing an arena? I remember people who saw them on the ST tour saying they weren't fit for it

About the same as DDLD, I'd say. Chino's falsetto on HITE was LOL-worthy, but fine otherwise.

Hopefully. They mixed it up on the 2022 tour I believe and also their back catalogue is too deep for them not to. But at the same time, I dunno, their newfound popularity throws a lot of things into question - do they feel they have to play to the new fans, like as an introduction course or something? Truly never know with them.

It does make sense however to play a lot of a singles now that they haven't released new music. I suppose they were more daring in the past but playing an arena tour is already a new challenge in their career

i watched the whole live stream while playing call of duty with my dad and uncle, i got so excited and i was told to shut up

Goddamn, what a show. They had a ton of energy and the crowd was giving it right back. Lots of young people there and the place was sold out from what I could see.

Saw them countless time in France. Sometimes they play for two nights in a row. And then they usually completely change their setlist for the second night. It was the case in 2017 for the two shows in Paris with dat Chongi asking on the second night who was there the evening before and telling us that the setlist was completely différent... and it was. It was rumored too for the 3 shows they were supposed to play at le Bataclan...

But when they only play one show, it's their typical setlist. Nothing new and mainstream audience friendly, which was to be expected when they are doing an Arena tour.

Gaz

It will be more of the side show / smaller type venues where the setlist get's experimental. You have to factor in that they are probably playing for the first time for a lot of people who will be attending the arena gigs in the USA

Calling it now.. they're gonna have this rumored listening party next week some time on the weekend, single gets released beforehand - or even the album but unlikely - and they play the whole of it at the second LA gig (or at least a couple tracks obviously)

Though I still believe a spring/summer release would make the most sense but.. Deftones are gonna Deftones?

We'll be back after the break for more impressions

They won't,  :'( they'll play exactly the same setlist they've been playing since 2015. sad but true... maybe they'll play some rarities but i doubt it.
And this person called Debbie downer  ::)
Everybody saying the exact same thing I said about the setlist haha.
This is deftones we're talking about.
And all the days I've missed you 🍂

Quote from: Inkblades on Feb 26, 2025, 06:32 AMMelancholy little synth interlude played right before the encore. Possibly something new?

Does someone have footage of this?
Good evening... and welcome to the white pony

Yeah their set lists are easy to predict. But goddamn I didn't expect a singles tour. Truly the greatest hits lol

A sold out arena tour with a bunch of young tik tok fans, is not ideal for debuting new songs. Maybe towards the end of the tour but not now.

sharinglungs

Any time is the perfect time to introduce fans to new songs... if it wasn't, touring musicians wouldn't exist.

I honestly believe they wont drop anything until the end of this US tour. Long year and booked up next year as well. They are not in any rush and smart money is that this will most likely be the last full length album. In another 4 years they will be like 55-60 years old.
