I like the new thread title.

Unfortunately, the title is true for me. I come here knowing I am not alone in my feelings of bewilderment, and disappointment about expectations I created. Just because they said it was close to be complete does not mean it *was* complete. They never gave a timeframe directly. Still believe it will be this year, but any notion of what month is gone. Now I am just taking nicklav's advice. One day I wake up and there will be news and I will be happy that day. That day will come.

To take it even further, there will come a day where I will think "Man, I wish I could go back to March 2025 when both my kids still lived at home. My youngest daughter and I were so excited for [insert album name]. Those were the good ole days."

What makes this sader is im reading this while listening to anniversary of an uninteresting event

Honestly guys, it's not all bad all things considered. You got

- One minute of music (the interlude from live shows)
- Potential artwork (snake + snake tongue symbol + hidden art in the Deftones logo on IG)
- Hints from band members (Stef "It's an Ohms/KNY mix but also things you've never heard from us and I'm very excited", Abe "It's coming very soon" from during this tour, Chino "It's almost ready" from a few months back and "Old fans are gonna love it" from during this tour)
- Confirmation on reddit from about a month back that mastering was finished, meaning the record is probably ready at this point
- Other info leaks/rumors on the record and the release process on both here and reddit that were since then deleted, had-to-be-there kinda shit I guess

Don't get me wrong though, I fully sympathize with the frustration of not hearing from the band, I suppose that's just how they are and you can't do anything about it. To be perfectly honest though.. what happened to just waiting?

Keep in mind also and I've said this before, this is their first ever arena tour. If you're in a band, it's a super big deal and that's probably their focus right now. That's not say there's no chance they won't drop some kind of other info/hint while they're touring but I don't want to boost people's hopes in vain.

Do you have a link to that interlude? I might look into whether or not its actually an original piece of music because ik that they used another artist's song for them coming out to stage. Pretty sure it was for DDLD 2024.

Anyways, my general thoughts on the whole album stuff is that its best to just forget about it and then whenever the music drops, it drops. Although I dont like the fact that we've been expecting the album since coachella last year we cant let our own expectations let us down.

Yup, previously was 4020 lines now its 4166.

Seems like they're doing some things slowly behind the scenes.. I get the proper text/checkbox when I check the desktop site. That definitely is new.. so why now do they put it on the front page and ruin the UI with the Logo/Video? Must be something coming soon...

They won't be playing any shows at that time.

Then the international tour begins, wherein Steph won't take part. So unlikely the album will be released before that, since he won't be there to perform those songs' debut.

Album in July/August right before the North American pt. 2 tour (as advertised with the snake).

This seems like a plausible outcome. I'm still holding onto a tiny, tiny sliver of hope for something before this tour ends, though...I mean, where's a better place to play new material than Madison Square Garden?

If they're right, would they actually play something live in this current part of the tour cause of Stef? They did mildly tease the album but idk. I'll still assume we won't hear anything new soon.

They did, but that didn't add to the source view lines.. doing a comparison online that checks for differences in code, everything that was added was just for that mailing list checkbox/text on the screen. They've shrunk some of the other code they didn't need as well, so in total it added 146 lines.

If they don't play a new song before the 9th of April, then they'll most likely be debuting a new song live without Stef overseas.

No but when I watched the Sacramento vid I noticed they played this interlude through the PA before the encore. Chino seemed to cut it short by ripping into Change. I believe they've been doing this at every show of this tour.

Now I'm going through that video of the entire sacramento set and I check a comment I made about the new album, wouldn't you know it a guy said that he met Chino before the PDX show and he said the new album is coming soon. Not that its anything special but still worth a little post.

But I am starting to wonder what "soon" means to Deftones lol. After 5 years, November might seem "soon". I hope not that long though....
