"Ohms" - Deftones New Album

Hey guys. This is a VERY VERY different deftones. But it's awesome. They're doing things that they've never done before (the bridge on pompeji for example).

Got through my first listen and wow. They absolutely crushed it. There are 2 songs I need to listen to a few more times, but everything else is just great. Everyone should enjoy this.

Does the 9-string just do Rosemary-esque chugga chugga or does Stef riff a little bit? And, any riffs that stick out as much as BQAD or My Own Summer?

i'd say the song "Ohms" has the best riffs on the album. the whole way through Stef just kills it in that song

i can't pinpoint anytime Stef uses the 9th string. anyone hear an exact part where he's for sure using it? i'm only 1 listen in


I think TSOM sounds like a 9...but I cant say for sure.

Nah, probably an 8.

When he's using his 9 he's not always using the lowest strings anyway. He just fits in with the rest of the guys - especially if chino is playing guitar on the track too. For example on the OHMS clip he using his 9 and only using the strings that you could pick up a guitar tuned to standard tuning and play it on still. I could find out the exact songs he's using his 9 on and get back to you later.

I'm honestly impressed with Stef's work here. Its not like hes soloing and shit, but I cant say I was expecting something like this...its so different!
Also, Frank has stepped up, big time.
