Chile always seems like an incredible gig. Some of my favourite Deftones live videos/performances are of them in Santiago over the years.

----03-03-18   Botanica Music Festival @ Six Flags, San Antonio TX

This was a weird festival, but fun.  It was the first year for it, and it was on Six Flags grounds right next to all the rides.  They originally had it planned for two days, but it seems like some bands backed out, and they cut it back to just one day.  It wasn't advertised very well.  Deftones didn't even list it on their own website until like 4 days before the festival, so I was worried they might not make it.

I didn't care for most of the opening bands, and it was raining, so I showed up right before Deftones was scheduled to start.  They were one of the Headliners, with that rapper Logic headlining some other stage.  Alessia Cara and Bishop Briggs are cool though, so I am kind of kicking myself for missing them.  Oh well.

Deftones put on a good show as always!  High energy.  Everyone sounded on point.  Chino said they haven't seen each other for like 4 months, and they were happy to see everyone.  According to their twitter, they got together a day early before the festival opened and rehearsed.  Not much other talk between songs.  Good set list!  Might be the only time I've ever heard them play Lifter live, so it was a nice surprise.  Minerva is always good!

And we had enough time to ride some roller coasters right after they played.  No lines!

Shame it's not a weekend festival, that lineup is amazing.

So when the tickets go on-sale, is it just for Deftones or is it for the entire day?

It's ten nights, all individually ticketed as far as I understand. I fear NIN is going to be impossible to get tickets for. There seems to be early release for Southbank members but I read somewhere that membership alone is £60.

Steve do you know about packages of some sort, like full festival tickets?

As LG95 thought, each show is individually ticketed. And that is correct about member presale. Membership (£69)

Tickets for Deftones are £45, £55 and £65.

Member presale is March 13th
General sale is March 15th

Apparently, getting tickets is a nightmare.

Ticketing
Please note that tickets are limited to four per customer.

Age recommendation
For ages 14+. Under-18s should be accompanied by an adult.

Event information
Although Royal Festival Hall is a seated venue, you are encouraged to stand at this gig.

Hello Darlings! Newbie here, medium-size Deftones fan but proper MELTDOWN ARMY! I love Meltdown coz I hate festivals, grass and crowds of people. Meltdown is small concrete venues with clean toilets.

Ticktes for these gigs go FAST coz not only do fans want them but the art crowd will go to Meltdown shows just for the hell of it as well. So here are a few things that will help you get tickets:

1. Get in the queue for the box office. The Radiohead kids queued overnight. I usually get there about 5am but am going earlier this year as each band on that line up has an army of obsessives. For Radiohead I arrived at 6am and still didn't get tickets.

2. Bring a folding chair, blanket, hand warmers etc... the venue is on the river and that wind is evil!!!

3. The website will freeze. The phones will be permanently engaged. The Southbank centre is arts and charity funded and they do not have the budget to pay for a state of the art booking system that will only get used once or twice a year. The rest of the time what they have is sufficient.

4. The tickets are controlled by Southbank - they do not allow pre-sale to bands fans. This could have changed but I don't think the patrons would allow it. I could easily be wrong. Unless of course the band has made a sizeable charity donation to the centre, in which case that band is a class act.

5. I spoke to the security and they will be setting up an area for us to get cosy in. I jokingly asked if they will provide biscuits and hot choc and the bloke said that they'd see what they can do. Ain't that adorable!!!

6. The staff at SBC are darlings! These are not your usual venue staff. You might get the occasional moody one but in the most part they will help in any way they can. This in an ART CENTRE run on grants, charitable donations and whatever profit they can accrue. It is not a corporate gig venue - if you haven't been before then expect a very different experience.

7. Never give up!!! There are often returns so keep phoning that box office, but for heavens sake be polite! The people at the box office don't generally deal with the chaos that Meltdown brings, they are used to the classical music brigade who are more concerned with what vintage wines will be on offer.

Good luck everyone! Maybe see some of you in the queue.

PS. The tickets on the slightly raised level to the sides are often cheapest and people think they are rubbish but in my opinion they are the best in the house!!! However these venues are beautifully designed and all seats are good.

PPS. I don't mean to patronise anyone with this post, just helping hardcore fans get in that room.

Thanks for the info, sounds like it's going to be a nightmare. I'll be trying to get tickets online so hopefully it won't freeze, fingers crossed!

Longstem

It was a nightmare, took me 3 hours to book the tickets.

Setbacks:

- Pricey tickets
- Can't pick your seat. I'm somewhere seated at the side, Sergio side.
- Payment and confirmation ok, but still no tickets received. I hope they are on their way
- took membership for 2 persons but I just bought as 1 member , 2 tickets. Information wasn't clear before purchasing tickets. Or I just misread, that's also a possibility.

Website seems down right now, NIN is already sold out.

But.. we're in :)

Greetings
Longstem

Ah, this sucks, sounds like it could be sold out before it even goes onsale to the general public.

I just checked :

- front stalls : remaining 3 tickets or sold out (website is not very clear.) So that's going to be impossible.
- For the rest it seems that there are still many places in the back and balcony.

Try to log in before the official starting time of sale tomorrow. I queued (online) 20 minutes before 11am and was already number 1301. My brother logged in a bit after 11AM and was already number 4800+.

Be prepared to wait and make time in your schedule. I cancelled all my meeting till noon for this. :)
Deftones for life haha :)
