Perhaps this doesn't belong on this thread, but the venues for the upcoming European tour seem to have been changed on the official website and I have not a clue why. The same venues are still mentioned on Facebook and anywhere else. Is this old news, am I missing something or can you guys please explain to me why they changed it? I'm a tad confused.

Most if not all of the German shows got moved to a smaller venue.
Guess ticket sales must be really bad...

@dawg Yes, you're right, all the German shows have been relocated. I wonder what's going to happen to Alexandra Palace, since that venue should have a capacity of a whopping 10.250 attendees, but I could be wrong. Oh well, the previous venues already seemed a bit ambitious to me and I strongly prefer seeing them in smaller venues. I feel kind of bad for the guys, though. :-\

they probably still get the money they were promised but the booking agent was a bit to ambitious and will lose some money :)
big venues in Germany only work for Deftones when they haven't toured in a long time like last year.

In Cologne the Palladium show is changed to E-werk, which is just at the other side of the street.
Deftones played several shows in E-werk, I love the smaller atmosphere ! Nice !
On the other hand, last june they completely sold out Palladium, so dont worry, I don't think sales are that bad.

Deftones is no arena band and (lucky us) never will be!

Lucky_Me

@dawg @Longstem Thanks for explaining it to me and for reassuring me. :) I read about this on Deftones' official website when I was taking a break at work and my heart just sank, lol. ::) I attended the show at Palladium last year (one of my best so far) and so I know E-Werk as well. It has an interesting history and it looks cool to me, although Palladium is one of the few larger venues I don't find quite soulless. In my experience, smaller venues might get you a lot closer to the band, so we will see whether I'll live up to my nickname. Either way, I'm super stoked! ;D

Super Bock Super Rock 2017
Parque Das Nações, Lisbon, Portugal

So weird no other European summer gig is announced. It's almost summer so I don't expect much of it.
Seems as if they are headlining this festival.

Yeah. Was announced end of December. Looks like it's a one-off European festival headliner. Looking forward to it!

European tour in 2018 ?

Hoping they'll squeeze in a little EU/UK tour while they're there. If they do it'll be a very good surprise; I've noticed they tend to do two years in a row and then a couple of years away until the next album. If they tour next year it'll be three years in a row and I'll be extremely happy!

Very surprised at European shows next summer. Gore was April 2016 so will be over 2 years on this touring cycle. Wouldn't say no to some additional shows though  ;D

Hoping they get added to Download Madrid (which is a week later).
