Nah, because it seems to be a strategy of some kind. It's pretty much a pattern at this point that rumors and tokyodrifter show up just before an announcement from the band happens.

It's almost a guarantee.

I mean look 3 new pages of comments from one person's post. They know what they're doing to get the hype train going.

I think this is just a member of sharing lungs messing around. Since we didn't get anything today then next Friday might actually make sense.  this album cycle has probably been the most frustrating out of all of them do to covid, lack of communication and secrecy, and just the overall climate in our world right now.

All of this reminds me of the cold open featured during season 3 of The Leftovers. It shows a group of Millerites that are part of a small cult. Their leader has predicted the end of times and they are all so excited about it. He picks a day and all the families go outside onto their roofs and wait for the coming of God. It never happens. It then shows the leader recalculating, granting them a new date! This time with more confidence. Some of the members have left but there are many faithful that believe still. This continues a few times. With each failed calculation and missed date, more people leave. Eventually there is simply one person left that still believes. Her family is embarrassed. She sits on the roof all night during a thunderstorm, thinking THAT is finally God speaking and coming to reward her for keeping faith.

The end of the world never comes though and she is shamed and shunned from her family. That's kind of what it feels like here right now. The only difference is the album will actually come eventually, but at the moment many people are starting to lose faith that anything might happen soon.

For now, "let the mystery be".

Yep beginning of Season 3. It's my favorite piece of film work ever, TV or movie. I'm not saying its the "best" of all time. Just my personal favorite
