Though it doesn't quite mean as much as it used to in terms of sales, Deftones may tie their highest US album sales ranking (S/T hit #2 in 2003) this year with Gore.

http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7333164/the-lumineers-set-for-first-no-1-album-billboard-200

"The Lumineers are heading for their first No. 1 album, as Cleopatra is set to debut atop next week's Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest the trio's second effort, which was released through Dualtone Records on April 8, could earn a little over 100,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 14."
Other albums aiming for high debuts on the new Billboard 200 include
Deftones' Gore (around 65,000 units with a possible No. 2 debut), Zakk Wylde's Book of Shadows II and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals' Call It What It Is (both around 20,000).

Anyone have access to Nielsen SoundScan or any other data on album sales? How do their week 1 sales look in other countries as well?

This is brilliant! I was a bit worried about the sales before. Good to see the album succeeding.

I cannot find Gore anywhere I have looked, in every store in multiple towns I can't find it

I bought the last one at target while I was out picking a few things up. I know target is lame I should have went to a record store, but they didn't get their copies in last week.

It's #1 in the UK.

Have they been number 1 in the UK before?

Not even close, their only top 10 in the UK has been the self titled which debuted at 7th and DE and KNY peaked at 26 and 30th respectively so it'd be huge for them to even finish top 3

As of the other day, there were only 2 copies left in my local walmart. I think they might be the edited versions of the album too.

The Lumineers end up #1 in the UK according to Official Charts, and Deftones hit #5.

Meanwhile, Adele's 25 rises two places to Number 2, and All Saints' comeback album Red Flag goes straight in at Number 3. It's the band's first appearance in the Official Albums Chart Top 10 since October 2000.

Aled Jones's One Voice climbs two places to personal career best at 4,
and Deftones' Gore is a new entry at Number 5.

That makes it their highest charting album ever in the UK.  Other countries so far that they've charted their highest ever include New Zealand, Germany, and the Netherlands, where they landed at 1, 7, 15 respectively.  Not bad.

US #2

Deftones' "Gore," generated approximately 68,188 in total consumption (with ~65,462 coming from pure sales). It will be the runner-up on Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200.

Gotcha! Cheers. That's indeed surprising. Either way, it seems the record is doing well pretty much everywhere. I don't have particularly high hopes for Finland though...
