All the remastering in the world can't bring out Frank's amazing synths on the Beware chorus. Oh well.  :'(
And synths on WGTB during chorus

Ves, was it you that redid this and Hexagram to hear the synths better?
When people whisper it makes her nervous.

Yea it was him, but the remastered version doesnt make it as loud like ves did, you can hear it better, but not as good like ves did

I loved those versions.

I know literally nothing about mixing/mastering/etc etc. Is it difficult and time consuming to do those things that Ves did? I imagine so or surely someone would have done most Deftones songs by now.

Twas me. I'll have to redo both someday. The WGTB version on my channel is good but was transcoded multiple times so the guitars are all gone, sadly.

Do the whole discography if you have a weekend free? Haha, I'm kidding of course. But seriously, these dude's need to make Frank's effects louder.

If it's not time consuming then it's probably shit.

Just being a hipster on this one but yeah, making a track that you affectionate usually requires time and all the focusing. As for what I did on these tracks, I would have been ten times less time consuming if I had any decent knowledge about the technical. Didn't take long though.

Interesting. So what I gather is that if you have the tools, knowledge and time then, in theory, you could remix/remaster/change the sound of an album you adore? If that's the case I am surprised that remixes like this are not more popular since music is an absolute passion for millions of people.

Anyways I am off to bed. Happy Gore Day!

This album is so diverse, but definitely has a certain type of feel and sound to it. They absolutely nailed every part on hearts/wires.

Just wanted to confirm I'm in the US and definitely hear the "Doctor" sample at 5:51 on Pink Maggit, on the iTunes version I mean.

I'm reading on ETS that the production on Gore is absolutely horrid. Is this true or are people just making a big deal about nothing like every album they release?

Depends on what you look for, I guess. My friend says it sounds too noisy for him to listen to repeatedly because it has more of a raw sound; he prefer Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan. Whereas most people here are happier with the sound more than the last two because it sounds more like their older albums. So...personal preference I guess?

Penicks

judging from those itunes samples i'm not hearing much difference with the cd tracks, granted i use a pair of mediocre bose headphones but yeah, don't really hear it

NYRexall

I've never ever once had any problems with the production on a Deftones album. Not ever. I've seen people trash the DE production to no end, the SNW production, the KNY production. Never had a problem with any of those albums sound-wise, personally.

Not to sound like an elitist prick, but I can't imagine having an entire album listening experience ruined because you're fussing over every detail. People can say I can't hear or don't know shit about mixing/mastering, but in the end I'm still listening to Deftones albums with zero problems in regards to the sound.
