Recently I received a call from Warner Music Colombia requesting me to get down the Gore teaser from my fan page. (Deftones.cl Latino on Facebook)  They confirmed me the name and the amount of songs of the leaked tracklist.

Interestinggg. Haha, why does the label always feel like an anti-hype machine these days? I wonder if that means we shoudn't be hopeful about other clips being released before the single? Would seem weird to me if they authorized the teaser but didn't want it around the interwebz?

he's always wanted to make a Deftones tour with only their lo-fi, experimental tracks like the Konami Code, Lucky You, Anniversary, etc.

How do we know it's the cover?

We don't. It could very much be the cover for the single we might get soon, or just a concept cover. Honestly, if this was the album cover, I'd be ok with that. I'm really digging the flamigo's

uhh not much to go on but nice to hear the guitar isn't sounding like meshuggah. the drum beat and the riff kind of sound more like a foo fighters record to me, davey g could come in on the vocals at any second. nice to hear something though

How do we know it's the cover?

Not 100% but there are several things pointing to it being the cover. 1) the cover was posted on the shazam page before deftones ever leaked anything other than the video. 2) They ended up leaking a corner of the cover image... this doesn't mean it's the album cover but it's definitely a cover of either the single or the album. 3) the most important point here is that it says Gore and nothing else. Any single cover is going to say the song title, not the album.

I'd say this is about as confirmed as the title being Gore for the period when we didn't know for sure. All indications point to it being so but until we hear it from the band's management we can't say for sure.

When they released the snippet I was able to open shazam and listen to the clip and it found the track in their database along with a small version of the album cover (obviously this shouldn't have been up yet). I think they planned on doing the album 1/9 a day release thing so now we basically get to sit around and wait for them to get that out of their system.

"We are going to release a picture of flamingos everyday and on the 9th day you put it together to make a bigger picture of more flamingos. Get excited!".
