A drummer can't get away with being sloppy, while a singer and guitars could. A bassist is somewhere in between, depends on his actual role. A sloppy drummer makes the whole band sound sloppy. Maybe it's hard to find a good enough drummer?

I actually happen to live next door to one of the many local trailer parks used to film Trailer Park Boys. My bedroom window looks directly out onto it. It's not the best neighbourhood but I haven't had any bottle kids run up on me lately.
