I heard they got awesome food banks in Canada...lucky. There's hardly any in Australia, I just go to the Asian Grocery and load up on cheap tofu and other goodies like soup and organic vegies.

a really good idea. a place that gives away free food, and in my city, theres a few around, and they all have things like organic tofu and soy milk and vetables, so really it's perfect for me. and my house mates. who are also all vegan.

i live in a house of 6 people and only 2 of us have a job, so i consider us "poor" people.
and by "poor" i mean, we dont have enough money to just go buy food for six people all the time. so, bless the food banks.

rxqueen

Woh, that must be hard.   So cool that there's this possibility for you!

You don't gotta be poor to shop at a food bank. It's for everybody. I wish there was some around Australia, or even around Sydney but sadly there isn't. I heard they got a few good ones in Melbourne. I swear, everyday I'm finding myself contemplating moving there.

rxqueen

I've heard about such thing in germany, too. But I don't know where and (that's why I asked) it seemed to me, that this is only for needy people. I spend so much money for food, it's crazy.

Damn, there was a halloween party I was going to, but the host has left Edinburgh now, so I'll most likely head out somewhere. I'm gonna dress up as a Cowboy, haha! Dude, totally know what you mean with the parents crying thing. As for the gig thing, sounds pretty cool , how much to get in? I'll see if I can drag somebody along.

serious, so its like a soup kitchen or something. but they just give you the food rather than cooking it.

Quote from: "wharf rat"- A Republican-led effort to slow spending on health care programs for the poor, elderly and disabled survived a stern test in the Senate Tuesday.  That chamber's Finance Committee, voting along party lines, approved legislation that would trim overall spending on Medicare and Medicaid by about $10 billion over five years.

its ok though, because now there will be "less restrictions on the market".  idiots.
