Thinking around the same number because there is a total of 16 tracks and Chino said in that recent magazine interview that they would be getting rid of 4 or 5 of the 16.

Hopefully they make them bonus tracks or they leak somehow... 4 or 5 could be similar to like Finger of Death or Lovers that slip thru the cracks because they don't fit with the rest of the album or the label says they don't agree with them, etc.

look at passenger, pink cellphone, or mein, when some bastards get into the vocal the song turns out totally fuckt up.
im still hopin that track on instagram isn't really deftones. KNY was a great disappointment to me, and if they keep going dat way they'll come down to a level of linkin park.

I'm not really a fan of Alice In Chains; I like a few of their songs, but it's generally just not my thing. But it doesn't really matter, because this isn't an Alice In Chains song, it's a Deftones song featuring a guitar solo from a guy from Alice In Chains. There's a massive difference. I think this will probably be one of their least Deftones-sounding songs, along with a few others. But that's the point. They've been around for over 20 years, they've changed their sound in some ways every album, while still generally keeping that aspect that makes them unrecognisably Deftones. But they also like to push their boundaries or do something very uncharacteristic once in a while. Guitar solo? Definitely uncharacteristic.

That's too bad. I tend to think they have one of the best fan bases, with the occasional outliers that come here and insult the band for working with other artists and call us all bastards.

It's true.  Deftones fans are dumb as shit.  It's why I generally don't like to talk about music with people.  Either they don't like the kind of music I like and so we have nothing in common.  Or, they do like the music I like and are just painful to talk to.

I find this post very interesting.  I wonder, what is it that makes you think anyone here is a "dumbfuck?"  From an outside perspective, from someone completely objective who wasn't involved in the matter at all, what I saw is a new fellow come in and voice his opinion.  Then I saw others disagree with that opinion.  Somehow, by doing the same thing as the original person, those others are "bastards." 

I found it interesting how another then mentioned that

Interesting how one can have an opinion, yet when others have one as well, which may be equally as valid in their own minds, it makes that other person "dumb as shit."


I must say though, that by not knowing who Jerry Cantrell is, you're not making yourself look good.  Of course not "stupid," but more rather ignorant.  Which is fine, it's okay to be ignorant, and I don't mean that in an insulting fashion as many people use it these days.  Alice in Chains is a wildly popular band and has been so for a very long time.  You can't blame people for finding it hard to believe that a self proclaimed Deftones fan wouldn't know who Jerry Cantrell is, even if you don't like his style.  And from what I understand, he is not contributing vocally, only with a guitar solo in one single song.

In the end, my opinion differs quite wildly from yours.  I liked Koi No Yokan, a lot actually.  I also very much like Passenger, even though it is not nearly my favorite off of White Pony.  I even, in stark contrast to the majority of Deftones fans, don't mind Mein all that much.

It seems quite horrifically ironic that the only people here that I would objectively consider "dumb as shit," "bastards," "crazy," "dumbfucks," or "attention whores" are the ones who used those words to begin with.

I'll end with this quote, because I think it hits the nail on the head pretty well.
