No that doesn't change the format but if none of the versions you have tried have worked it'd most likely be the player  not the file anyway, try use VLC player to open it others like windows media player are notorious for doing the audio out of sync thing because of bad codecs they use.

yup, you need a converter, but I do it and re-upload the vid, try. If dont work, something happen with your laptop
