deftones - a name you can trust

Someone with observation and a little insight could have made this thread back in 1998 after this interview with Chino.  It was a brief glimpse into the heart and style of a man and a band that was then and still is a different breed.  I could have made this thread back in 2003 after this band had every opportunity to turn to shit following the success of White Pony.  Instead they exposed themselves as a band with more depth, style and passion than most people could accept.  After new levels of commercial success, money and fame, this band returned with a remarkable degree of passion and indeed, desperation on that self titled record.  That was the year Chino screamed to god for help and it was the year that this band won my heart. 

Ten years later and some twenty five years into this band's career I am so proud to call the deftones my favorite band.  Not for now, not just back in the 90's, but my whole life.  This band is timeless.

Totally agree alot of bands say they're just writing what feels right not what's gonna be popular but Deftones are the only band I know who do it truthfully over and over, it takes alot of balls to do what they do ,they're constantly reinventing their sound ,not happy with some formula that they know can sell records. I like a lot of bands but Deftones are the band I respect the most.
