My girlfriend was gonna get me tickets to see them in February but I told her not to bother after checking recent set lists.

DUDE! I know you don't like the new album and the setlist thing has been disappointing for a few years now but... reconsider.

Definitely that pisses me off maybe the thread should be the other way round lol ,some fans are taking the opportunity they get to see them live for granted try living in fucking middle earth lol they could come here and Chino could just play an hour long triangle solo and we'd be stoked.

If they were to switch it the fuck up yeah for sure, but typical boring ass setlists just hurt my soul. Also their fans in the UK are fucking intolerable, 60% will be pretentious hipsters and the other 40% straight up thrashers. It's not like the show is on my doorstep either I'd have to travel like 100miles to get there. Plus she's not really into them so I'd just be at a show on my own.

Does anyone know the July 2, 2007 setlist at warfield in san francisco.that was my 1st deftones concert and I wish I knew the setlist. 8)

When they were touring SNW i was actually quite surprised with what they pulled out the bag..... however since DE it is a slight predictable  set list. I can understand a festival but when they just tour normal they should mix it up a tad! Saying that as long as i get Goon Squad and Poltergeist LIVE in feb ill be a happy chappy.

I have to travel nearly 200 miles to see them but I'm a fan and that's what I will do.

They're controlled by the fuckery of hollywood now. Hence all the trivial artwork on their new material. I still love the dudes and they're still putting out some shit worth listening to,  but as far as I'm concerned MY deftones died when Chi went into a coma. I mean their fucking label is warner brothers FFS, do the math.

I don't see how they're controlled they're still not putting out completely radio friendly shit surely if they were controlled  all their songs would be 3-5 min long radio singles, Also how does the album artwork affect anything at all? and Maverick has been working with Warner this WHOLE time, right from the very beginning it's just that recently Warner folded up the Maverick subsidiary and just put everything under the parent company, Do a bit of research before ranting off conspiracy theories.

Where are you from homie? Have you lived in LA or NYC? Do you know anyone in the entertainment business? And most importantly how long have you been listening to them? Sure they still have plenty of lead way to direct their music in a direction they're comfortable with. But if you think they have the same kind of freedom to do what they want with it as they did in the 90s then you know fuck all about how much the music industry has changed in the last decade. You label anything outside of your normalcy bias a "conspiracy theory" on this board, shit is laughable dude. Lemme guess you think Obama is the second coming of Jesus too ya?

DeftonesNZ

I just think it's wrong to assume they're being controlled because their musical direction has changed to a less experimental style and I'm sure their at a point in their career where they have built up the trust of the record company enough to be given freedom. I don't see how living in L.A would help I'm over the other side of the world and I seemed to have more knowledge about the whole Maverick Warner arrangement, I'm guessing you have friends in some low level band that are telling you how the industry's changed but a band earns certain privileges over 19 years with the same company. As for the petty Obama remark please don't reinforce the stereotype that Americans have overseas.

It's amazing that you know every single UK Deftones fan out there. Besides, go for the band and their music, not the fans.
