How to win a fan in 23 tracks

You've been asked by a friend, who has always stayed away from Deftones for whatever reason, to create a mix CD consisting of 3 songs from each album (and 2 covers/B-sides, whichever you choose) to try to convince him to be a fan. Keeping in mind to keep your own personal opinions out of the picture (if possible), how would you arrange your CD to try to grab up a new fan? This isn't necessarily picking your favorite tracks, but rather the ones you think will find the greatest appeal to an outsider looking in for maybe the first time (although it is quite possible these may overlap of course). Would you do your best to emphasize the great diversity among Deftones songs? Or perhaps focus only on their heavier or softer side? Would you focus mainly on singles, or their lesser known tracks?

That scenario actually applies to me. I have a friend who doesn't listen to Deftones, but listens to bands like SoaD, Slipknot, Linkin Park, LoG, Disturbed, A7X, etc. I'm actually trying to get him to like seven bands, but I especially want him to get into Deftones.
