Thought it would be a good idea to start a guitar tab thread ,I know some of you are a lot more talented then myself and have already worked out the guitar parts to the new songs i would appreciate any tabs for KNY also feel free to post tabs to other Deftones Material

Do you have a 7 or 8 strings guitar? If not, It's quite complicated to play the new songs on a standard guitar...

No i plan on getting one soon,but Chino plays on most of the songs with a standard 6 string anyway

Yes, you're right, anyways, from SNW to date, i haven't checked tabs, i just put my guitar (6 strings .60) to G# or F# and tried to play some songs from DE, SNW works good but KNY & DE are kinda weird to play

Yeah i can play self titled stuff on the 6 string just without the extra c# and it sounds good but i wouldn't want to drop it any further,i dropped to DE tuning once the strings were just too loose and i have thicker than standard strings aswell

I don't sorry cause i never play DE stuff i think he uses multiple tunings on it i think he used standard  F♯+B+E-A-D-G-B-E and i think he also dropped the top to E on some songs

Stef's tuning on the DE album is 8-string standard (F# B E A D G B E). There are no exceptions, I asked him at a show.
Also, at the Trees show in Dallas '10, where the whole album was played, he played with the same guitar through the whole set

No, White Pony and Self-Titled are the only ones ever released so far..

I used to have some of these and to be honest I don't think I would play half of the songs like they did in those books... They were way off so many times... So I never used them, sold them for drugs. And still play guitar better than them apparently.

hahah interesting. The tab books are really that bad? I mean I know Deftones songs are not really hard to play, but I thought the tab book would be legit what Stephen and Chino play. I really wanted some tab books with DE for the 8 string guitar notation and of course there isn't or will never be a Koi No Yokan book.

I seen some of the official tabs seems to included redundant notes you can't even hear and when you see them live you can tell the guys aren't playing them either lol,also here's some cool videos where Stephen shows how to play some WP songs.

I haven't seen those videos before, the thing i learnt now by them was the part of the main riff in Elite, he uses the 3rd string and the rest are open, while i uses to play the bar on the 3rd fret... there are some more videos of guitar lessons?

I used to play it like that aswell ,no more lessons like this as far as i know which sucks cause they're really helpful
