DE was promoted through the roof, theres nothing out there for KNY besides word of mouth and stellar reviews. You'd think they'd have videos for Swerve City and Entombed on the way out now as well.

I'm guessing Reprise counted on that and on the social networks' buzz to promote it, knowing they wouldn't have to spend a lot themselves.

The "win a Stephen Carpenter Signature Guitar"- contest was the best they could have done. It spreaded like cancer on facebook, twitter etc. and on every fanbased deftones site and because ESP as a brand got promoted by this as well, it costs reprise nothing I guess.

Generally the video is out a few weeks before the single which is a few weeks before the album. It does surprise me that there isn't much publicity out there for this. I don't feel the 'buzz' around this album as much as I had felt it for the previous albums. Maybe the label thinks that the band doesn't need the promo for it.

The way we were all waiting for it to leak.... they were right to think they dont need much promo!

s/t--------------snw. era between these two. the band just had a dark feel to it which is what i always liked + chino was doing team sleep, unfinished ts album leaked, then the official was released, 3 albums worth of ts demos, then snw was released and its probably my favorite, then to finish it off we get the snw demos ....... good times

I guess part of why DE was promoted so much was because it had leaked 3 months early and they wanted to save the sales.

Swerve City should have been the street single

then Entombed as the main single, to get people geared for the album's sound.

Warner has been doing fuck-all to promote this album. No video, no radio, no magazine publicity, no vinyl. They went full tilt on DE, even after their bozo PRs let it leak three months early.
Dude. There has been heaps of promo. Why are you so concerned?

who actually cares about this anymore?

aaaahhh well maybe you'll go linger somewhere else if you're so impatient, n00b.

Are you 12? This is why I don't join forums anymore.

Funny you say that, because you only joined this one a few weeks ago  ;D

If i had to 'guess' either the video was crap & they weren't happy about it or the video had a 'end of the world' type of theme then Huricane Sandy came along so for obvious reasons they decided not to release it.

This actually makes sense.

Either way I'm starting to feel a little frustrated with this. The videos are part of the whole excitement about an album release.

chino and steph feel that the album should speak for its self and it has and will continue too.... videos and all that crap is just a waste of money and time....

Amoe38

The Hurricane Sandy thing is actually a great point. That could infact be why the video has yet to be released.

Yeah maybe i'm not sure though it was filmed in a forest setting doesn't seem like it would relate to a city being hit by a hurricane

maybe the phisical copy was totally ripped off by the fucking sandy, nooooo!!! :(

sing blue silver

Maybe they just didn't like how it came out and decided to scrap it. Music videos are far from practical these days anyway. Expensive and they barely serve as promotional material anymore unless you actually go look it up on YouTube. They're a waste of money in todays music business.

jciraheta

this sucks, i really want to see a video for swerve city or rosemary :(

DRockDot

Sorry if this has been addressed, but wasn't there suppose to be a "Tempest" video... or have I missed it? lol
