I agree that the lyrics on KNY got somewhat weaker, but you basically picked the worst line from the entire album. The others lyrics are not as terrible to me.

Anyway, I think the lyrics in Diamond Eyes are still top-notch, except for Rocket Skates. Especially the lines "Are you phased or are you thinking? Crack a smile and wink. It doesn't scare me away." and "We go out together, we weave our own web. Tangled in the waves with you, we spray the scene in red" give me a slight shiver everytime I hear them. In a positive sense.

I enjoyed his more abstract lyrics as well but I think some of the new stuff is really beautiful ,where some people hear beauty others hear cheese maybe one day the lyrics will fit your state of mind and they will all make sense.

This is probably one of the best lines on the record.

"Verve is his curse, because he wanted to meet Christ, alone". Love this one as well.
"Drink one more and I could flow right in her". This one is also good and I gotta say pretty fun.

It's simple yet abstract, that's why I use it. Obviously we don't have the same way to read lyrics. It's one of Chino's most quoted lyrics.

Honestly, I hate that kind of reaction. Does that mean I have some kind of disease that makes me dislike those lyrics? I'm meant to like KNY at some point? No, I'm not supposed to. KNY is fucking terrible to me, that's why I don't like it. "I promise to watch and raise your babies", really? What's next? A song about how love is beautiful and how everybody should love each other because love is so great and let's make babies and have a good life and let's be good people 'cause bad people are evil, evil is not good, evil is killing us, the world, THE EAAAAARTHHHH?
