Deftones should be under the genre - Deftones

i started changing the metadata on everything of theirs so the genre's just 'deftones' since i got my first mp3 player. it works out.

Simple, Deftones are alternative rock (Alternative metal in earlier releases). That's it.

KNY is third on the list because that's the lowest it can be, but in time it may move up. But I cant say that for sure because it has to stand the test of time, so to speak. Adrenaline is a great album, just that I dont like all the songs on it, or ATF. Every other album, I like every song except Pink Cellphone. Though some I get bored of and some I dont.

adrenaline is considered a true classic among many,many long time fans. it's just that a lot of those ppl turned their back on deftones when they released snw and aren't here anymore. checkout any old thread when albums are ranked, snw is always at the bottom. with the d.e bandwagon though, a lot of new fans joined and they just don't understand the greatness of those songs, partly bc of poor production i would guess. but it's ok, like whatever for whatever reasons

Yeah, I get that. That's very very true. Adrenaline and Around The Fur was what turned me onto Deftones back in 1999/2000.. then White Pony came out and I was instantly hooked. I knew right then that I had discovered my all time favorite band. I totally love Adrenaline, that's why I ranked them from Amazing to Great in my list lol because I love all of their material.

There are some fan-fucking-tastic songs on Adrenaline. I think I've just grown more tired of that album, than any of their others. I find myself listening to their other albums more so than Adrenaline. But I love the raw energy than they have with Adrenaline, and what I love most is that Deftones haven't turned their backs to that album, they still play some of those songs live. A lot of bands rarely play stuff off of their first album once they hit the 7th album mark.

But for the band, it's definitely a good thing. The fact that they are getting new fans with Diamond Eyes & Koi No Yokan. I'm one of the long-time fans that never turned my back on them, and I welcome anything they do with fresh ears and open arms.

KNY could drop down in time, obviously, or it could not, but I'm listing what my favourites are NOW. And right now I personally think it's the best record they've ever put out. SNW usually jumps all over the place, too. To me it's always been a really disjointed album so I can never quite place it. Not into it a huge amount at the moment.

But hey, they haven't released anything I'd even come close to saying was a bad album. They are too damn consistent.
