I love how Stephen's riff "stumbles" at the very end of Poltergeist.

2nd half of the 2nd verse!! when he switches... omg jizz..

I can't believe ppl are finding this album boring...you cannot be a deftones fan if u cannot allow them their natural maturation and progression into a sound THEY want...always been a fan and each album blows me away...if u want to hear the same thing over and over i suggest u listen to black metal or thrash metal or sum pseudo 'hardcore' genre...it's amazing how many ppl want to hear more adrenaline and around the fur for the sake of heaviness/screaming vocals...time to grow up man.. deftones did

Did anyone else spontaneously jizz to Rosemary's outro, Goon Squad intro interlude thingy!?

That part doesn't make sense.  I don't really think it sounds good.

I know what youre trying to say, but, since when is passion about aggressive style music tied to maturity?  I love all styles that deftones have brought to the table thus far.
I have been a fan since Adrenaline and appreciate the uniqueness of each album that has followed.  I personally love KNY, but I find it perfectly reasonable that people can find this album boring.  Just because people fell in love with their previous material and consider them self a fan, doesnt mean they are obligated to love everything deftones do going forward.  To each their own.

nobody said they wanted to hear more Adrenaline or Around The Fur (at least on this thread). it's cool if you disagree with someone else but don't make assumptions and generalizations :/

It has nothing to do with not wanting them to progress, for me. I don't want to hear a carbon copy of another album, despite loving Adrenaline - SNW. I think their new material has potential, but the execution is lacking--that is what makes it boring. What makes it even more boring is that quite a number of the songs on this sound like songs we've heard before, from them and from others. I feel as though they're not doing what they want anymore, instead trying to appeal to a wider audience. I just don't see any real passion behind what they do.

My feelings toward the album also have little to do with wanting to hear heaviness/screaming vocals. I would just like variation in the vocals and the songs themselves. I want to hear some raw fucking emotion.

If u don't feel any raw emotion on the album you may want to go to the ER and get checked for a pulse.

Am I the only the one who's getting a Glassjaw - Jesus Glue vibe from Gauze?

Oh, no. You better not start there, buddy. No, hell no.

Raw emotion = Deathblow, Pink Maggit, Battle-Axe, Rivière, AOAUE, WGTB and so on. Please, feel free to point me in the direction of such a song on KNY.

And don't say WHTY. Just don't.

Entombed

Album is even better than I had expected. Entombed and Gauze are my favorites so far due to their melodic richness. The whole album is pretty solid. Best I've heard since Self Titled, though it may surpass that in time. This is only my 2nd listen through.

I've had this shit on repeat all day at my desk. It's kinda hard to mosh in an office chair while writing SQL. Bumped my head.

I'm loving this album more with each listen. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that the songs blend together. It's an album and not just a collection of songs. I melt for Rosemary/Goon Squad. Love the experimentation. Love the Frank sauce sprinkled in everywhere. Love the guitars. Love it. I don't know what else to say other then I want to lube up this album and go to town.

I thought DE was amazing when it came out. I thought Deftones were on top of their game. KNY blows that DE shit out of the ocean! Are you serious bro? DE sounds like your brothers high school band opening for Pink Floyd compared to this. This is next level shit.

I see people giving their review scores? Here's mine. 1billionity/10
