pfft, Entombed is excellent, y'all. smh

I think Entombed is terrible.

Thought I was the only one that doesn't like this track.
It feels like an obligatory mellow track to me. Nice change of pace, but feels like filler to me.
Don't think it's bad, but, it's my least favorite

Yeah. And that's how Romantic Dreams and What Happened To You feel to me as well.

Goon Squad
Nice intro, especially Franks drone. The song starts out banging, almost in a Stone Temple Pilots kind of way. The verse is straight up rocking. The chorus on the other hand is terrible. the worst part is Chinos looping inhale cat scream. What were they thinking? 3/5

What happend to you?
Everybody saying that Entombed is Koi No Yokans Sextape, you are wrong. This song is Koi No Yokans Sextape. Laid back atmosphere, very beautiful. Stef almost plays his guitar Chino style. Good way to end off the album. Lacks emotional impact, though. Pretty sounds aren't everything. 3/5

Koi No Yokan 3.5/5

I've heard all the songs besides these two.  If Goon Squad has an STP opening I will be so thrilled.  You had me at that!   Sex Tape is also my favorite off of DE so I'm pumped.  You made waiting until 5:30 unbearable!!!!!!!

I think Koi  No Yokan is pretty wonderful actually.  I do agree that Entombed is good but as a deftones song, its out of place and unexpected. I love the fact that there is a consistent aesthetic with the sound of the album. And I feel its lightyears better than the inconsistent Diamond Eyes.

Does Gauze make someone else think of Risk?

For what its worth if anyone cares... have to say graphic nature is my fav.

i love this song.got some old school vibe to it. the opening riff that keeps coming back sounds like a robot mosquito that's attacking you over and over

Diplo

The singing, the guitar silence with the Frank's sounds, yes a little bit like Risk.

Swerve city with the "ahahahh" of Chino reminds me Dexter of The Offspring.

What Happened To You could be about Chi, right?

Never thought about it but you could interpret the lyrics that way I suppose.

Big Roy a.k.a Big Money Roy enjoys the album. Sounds fresh.

How does Poltergeist sound on Chefroyardee's new Bose system?

I thought that Big Roy a.k.a The Last Roy was not interested in no leaks. I mean, I feel a little cheated because I've ATAT (absorbed that, accepted that )

Gauze doesn't remind me of Risk. Or any of their songs really. The ending reminds me of a Meshuggah riff though. Can't figure out which one though.

i am going to compare each song with another deftones song

S city ...reminds me feiticeira
Romantic dream, ...is the needle and pinss

that riff (ending heavy bit you referred to?..) resolves within the 4 beats...  aka a bar.  no modulation over 4/4 involved there...

I'm glad I'm not disappointed with this album.  It's the first album to make me fall back in love with deftones like I did when I first heard them.  I guess part of it depends on where you are in your life.   I'm in a good point in my life and that's why this album rings true. Cruising through the night listening to this just makes me feel alive.  Fuck yeah.

Having "Poltergeist" and "Entombed" coupled next to each other in the tracklisting is SO convenient when I want to make the case for why I enjoy Deftones so much. I'll just play them those two songs.  ;)
