I love it, WHTY is beautiful almost broke down in tears though  it's probably my favorite right  now. Rosemary is perfect. I don't really like the inhale thing Chino does in the Goon Squad chorus sounds kinda weird lol, so far these are the tracks that really stand out to me...now I get why people didnt want to listen to the songs that were released. I try not to skip them but meh, I wont ever skip Rosemary though <3

So is the 320 version worth it or is it pretty much the same audio quality as the 160 rip.  I think I might as well wait it out till Tuesday and pick up an official copy...especially since it sounds like the album is worth waiting for.

The more I listen, the more I feel it sets itself apart from their entire discography to date. Not just in the sense that it's "better" (it is to me), but it's just a whole different beast, no matter your opinion. The discrepancies among any of the records from ATF to SNW absolutely pale to the fork in the road they took on KNY. I don't really see this as a "blend of SNW and S/T" or anything of the sort; it's out in left field.

I don't know; I've admitted in a couple posts here already that Deftones aren't my favorite group in the world or anything, and I mainly signed up just for the leak and subsequent discussion. To be blunt, I've always felt their records are consistently great, but never quite exceptional or mind-blowing. One main reason is that there always seemed to be a degree of repetitiveness or stagnation through parts of any given record. Even on WP, my clear favorite before this, I'd say I can easily get bored on the first half and skip around sometimes. KNY just has a whole different feel; it's so immediately accessible and diverse. Diamond Eyes was a step in that direction, with very little "stagnation," but that slick accessibility and fast pace came at the expense of depth. This one seems to correct the latter without sacrificing the former. It feels and progresses *very* differently from anything before Diamond Eyes, IMO. This thing comes out swinging and just rolls from end to end without noodling around and losing my interest ala the mid-section of SNW, or the Good Morning Beautiful/Deathblow sequence, or even -- dare I say -- the Elite/Carp/RX one.

Also of note is that the atmospheric bits are fucking perfect. My favorite artists have always been ones that excelled at this -- Tool/APC, Radiohead, Oceansize, etc. -- and Deftones have had their moments, but nothing in the league of Rosemary, especially with its outro. The extension into the beginning of Goon Squad is absolutely chilling and emotive in a way I honestly didn't believe these dudes were capable of until now. Let me reiterate what I said weeks ago when it first leaked: I think Rosemary is the realization of something the Passenger/Change/Pink Maggit sequence was only striving for.

I'm just going to ramble if I don't stop myself, but I'm becoming rather confident this will easily be my favorite Deftones record, edging out WP by a decent margin. I know that's blasphemous to some hardcore and longtime/early fans, and to be fair I don't even like their early stuff (Adrenaline and half of ATF) all that much. But for "crossover" casual fans who come from the perspective of fawning over bands like the ones I mentioned above, I think this record may convert quite a few into true believers.

Yeah im loving the whole album Romantic Dreams is so much better than the previews made out , entombed is just beautiful and Good Squad what a bolter most of the press people just sort of said it was average but it's amazing

I love Goon Squad a trillion times more now that I read the lyrics. Here is my interpretation.

I think he basically is saying that they were trend setters and everyone knows that.
He spend time perfecting music with a lot of contrast, cutting out shit he has outgrown, such as heavy/groovy music that people used to love about them.
Deftones have been crowned by many as leaders of this genre. They could care less and laugh when people fail trying to emulate their sound. Bands that try to copy them fade into nothing, two at a time. Their kingdoms fold.
But then they write a song like this with ease, no sweat. Designed for us, by him.
He knows people are going to copy them, again, like they always do. Watch the trends begin.
They won't follow suit, they never do. Either way, they will keep breaking in a new sound with us, his friends.

TLDR-He is saying they can write a heavy song like Goon Squad even though they aren't really that type of band anymore. And they can do it better than anyone else has or ever will. They don't follow trends, they set them.
