i actually found his WP stunt kinda funny.  i hop he's legit.  if not, oh well... not too much longer until the real deal.  i do want to hear this tonight... or tomorrow.  but i'm just fucking thankful we got a seemingly-awesome new Deftones records in just two years.  life is good.

The only real hope for the next 48 hrs or so is that they have some deal to stream it online. A few bands I know of (Circa Survive, Minus the Bear) have done that on RollingStone.com this year, but I can't recall how many days prior to release. A week out (for the US date) seems awfully optimistic, though.

Just to keep things in perspective, there's a very high chance of seeing it by Thursday morning US time. It releases Friday in Australia, and Sydney is 15 hours ahead of EST (18 hours ahead of PST). So I imagine some stores will have midnight releases, and given Deftones' popularity, someone will buy it and get it up on a tracker like What or Waffles quickly. If so, that's only a little over 72 hours from now. If someone's pre-order arrives a day early in AUS, which isn't uncommon, we'd be looking at Wednesday evening our time.
