Swerve City feels like a song they wrote directly in between their time of Around the Fur and White Pony...almost akin to something they would have sessioned with "Can't Even Breathe" at one point.

Poltergeist is going to be an easy favorite hands down...I'm totally getting that late 90's feel, and the guitar is giving me that weird sense of "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" by U2 (Batman Forever soundtrack anyone?). 

Romantic Dreams for some reason feels like an extreme throwback to the "Like Linus" demos with the early 90's, "Polaris" sounding vocals that I really appreciated on such songs like "Gift". 

I'm sure most of you agree, these 30 second previews helped us hold out a little bit longer for this album.  I listened to it for only one iteration, and that's enough for me until the leak/album comes out.  You know how when you listen to a song the first time, and even minutes later can't quite conjure up the general melody/lyrics/tempo?  Totally getting that right now, and I'm thankful for that.

Overall, I think this album is going to be a real service for us fans.  I know earlier (what...20 pages ago? lol) I had my concerns about them taking a completely different direction and losing any semblance of what we all first heard that got us into them years ago, but honestly...There are so many throwbacks to their earlier works in this album, my mind is completely at ease.  Also, I really feel like the rest of the album sounds leagues ahead of Tempest and Leathers...especially Poltergeist, Swerve City, and Goon Squad.

I am not trying to be a downer, I love the sounds of "Entombed", "Gauze", and "Rosemary". I just want to know if we can expect some screaming.

Safe to say these songs have the least aggressive vocals deftones have done previously.

After listening I must say this might become my favorite. I have always preferred their more melodic sounds to their heavier songs but that should not suggest that "When boys telephone girls" or "Lotion" are not a couple of my favorites. But in my opinion their brilliance shines through on tracks like "Digital Bath"  and "Xerces".  They are much more then just their heavy elements and is why they continue to stay relevant year after year album after album plain and simple. Cant wait for the leak and or the release.

That makes me wonder about, say, "Romantic Dreams". Apparently is was deemed unpredictable, full of trap doors, and a monster. Obviously, the 30 second sample doesn't do it ANY justice. I am just curious now. FUCKING HYPERBOLE.

Its clear there will be. With all the melodic stuff the heavier elements are going to sound even heavier. But we will just have to wait and see.
