This entire year was just flying by, until the first week of October when I realized KNY was quickly approaching. Since then, the days have felt like they are just creeping by. I am really happy for everyone that can wait this out patiently. I would not wish this feeling I have on anyone. When you love something this much, not having it can be an awful feeling lol.

I do worry though that I have my expectations a little too high. I really don't think this album will disappoint me though, simply because the three songs released are some of my favorite songs since WP. Not to mention that the few who have heard the album all say it IS their best work since WP, and the best songs are the ones we have yet to hear.

I must admit though that Poltergeist does not vibe with me nearly as much as the other three songs. I do love it, but not nearly as much as the others. Then again, I have not heard the studio version of heard it in context with the album.

I don't know how old you are but I decided not to hope for another WP. For me it came along at the right time in my life, leaked while I was still a freshman and S/T didn't come out til the month I graduated HS. WP is my High School Soundtrack. Comined with the fact the album is simply amazing I don't think anything could top it, even if it is "better" on some levels. Music doesn't move me the same way it used to, I don't think anything they put out could capture the moment for me like WP did. Nevertheless everything I've heard has my excited for the album. Rosemary is terrific and I'm really excied to hear Swerve and Dreams. Goon Squad sounds like it might be a surprise too... aggro space or whatever/.

Well said, and my thoughts exactly. I got White Pony when I was a freshman and it changed my life. And it changed the kind of music I started listening to. It's not a matter of if they can top White Pony, that album came out at the right time. It has a lot to do with what was going on in our lives when we listened to that album - not just about how great it is. And it is great, but even if Koi No Yokan is better, it won't touch on the same levels as White Pony did at that time for me. That's not to say that I won't play the fuck out of it when it comes out, I know it's going to be solid. 7 albums into their career and not a single dud. I can't say that for many other bands..

feeling the same way about music in general... Maybe I've been knowing them for too long...I don't know. But I guess it's like everything in life... It becomes harder and harder to be surprised, to feel that sparkle that makes you feel alive. WP came out when we were teenagers or Young adults... in this period of your life everything sounded fresh and new.
But it doesn't matter... I still love them, as long as they evolve and mature.

I am 28 so I know exactly what you mean. ATF was my first Deftones album which I bought in 98, and I took it with me everywhere. Same with WP as that album and ATF were the soundtracks of my teenage years. Now being an adult with kids, wife and a job, there are not as many "exciting" moments that I get taken back to when I listen to newer albums. Not real sure why I anticipating this album as much as I am, but I am sure it will be worth it on the 13th!

Apparently, 2 more people have reported leaks at "Has it Leaked". But I don't trust it for a second. I don't get why those assholes need to fuck around.

I saw that too. I really want it to be real, but it is not likely. I checked out a few other sites like that, and virtually no major label albums leak any earlier than 7-10 days prior to the street release date. Many albums released in the past couple months have stayed "sealed" up until 3 days prior to release. I have given up hope for a leak. It is better for the band anyways and it will make the album that much better once I have a copy in my hands

Interviewers suck dick. The guys who have interviewed them so far have been boring as fuck. The band deserves better after being around as long as they have. At least some excitement damn.

The FaceCulture people are really good. I'm surprised deftones hasn't done one before. They've interviewed everyone.
