In that interview Chino tried to act like he has no desire to make electronic music yet he's actually produced quite a bit on the deftones and team sleep records. Maybe he had amnesia in that interview.

I think he meant he has no interest in dubstep.

But yeah, the interviewer was a douche to Abe. He actually wrote "Chino is the one you want to hear from" in response to one of the comments on Youtube. I do want to hear from Chino, and I'm glad he asked about his side projects, but Chino isn't the only person in the band. We always hear from him in interviews.

Looking back at it...maybe it was too on-the-nose for it to be trolling. Nice try :-)

He means, he's not interested in making piece of shit dubstep music.

Munson

eh if I was Abe I'd be happy not to get asked questions.

but then again, I'm an introvert who can sometimes be socially awkward lol.

pinkmaggit69

I'm curious what "a lot of money" is to Chino.

Drinks won't stain this birth!

Electron§

Interesting how in the metalsucks review they compared "What Happened To You?" to "MX", while Chino compared it to something like "Pink Maggit".

How does that make sense?!

Wait, when did he say that?!

You know what, I'm not even going to take that serious. Expecting that song to sound like Pink Maggit is going to make expectations for it WAY too high.

bewareofrats

I like the idea of it sounding like MX.  Some edge, heaviness at the very end.

Don't be ignorant dude. You probably don't like dubstep cause you've only heard skrillex or bassnectar. Before it was hi-jacked and commercialized dubstep was raw, just like rap in the 90s. I could link you to some artists that would blow your mind.

Chino said he has no interest in making "electronic" music, not "dubstep". Yet a lot of what he's done with pretty much all his bands, especially team sleep consists of electronic music. Ataraxia, pink cellphone, teenager, and lucky you are just a few examples. Maybe he meant dubstep but just said electronic instead.

I hope so, you'd have to be dumb as shit to call "synths" a genre of music.

I apologize. Probably a bit of an ignorant comment i know.
I do like 'dub', just not the kind of dub where all its based upon is how heavy or crazy a drop is.

I don't remember but he said something to that effect.... Then again it might have just been his standard "sounds like White Pony" comment and also said it was atmospheric and weird I just imagined it being like "Pink Maggit" because that obviously the pinnacle of that whole album.

And I agree... i doubt the song will be anywhere close to "Pink Maggit".......

I seriously doubt anyone here is going to find one song on KNY that is similar to anything on ATF.
Those comparisons in that review are highly suspect.

He said it sounds like ''MX'' just because it probably has some ''sexy/mystic'' vocals in some parts (just like Abe's wife talks).
Im sure because he also says it sounds like ''Curve'' songs
